Need better trail maps, but enjoyed walking around even though we didn't see many birds. Heard them more than saw them. That's OK, it always depends on the time of day and season (and weather).

Our last trip out before I winterize.

First stop was Shephard State Park in Gautier, MS.
Then we had to move to All About Relaxing RV Park in Theodore, AL.

Shepard was nice and clean. Very spacious lots. Gravel roads and no concrete. We had power and water. No sewer.
We arrived after dark and none of the street lights are working. Made parking very challenging. Lot was not real level. Had to raise over 3 inches to get trailer level side to side.
Bathhouse was clean and heated. Codes to get in Park and another for bathhouse.
We drove around the park and walked out on the marsh walk. Archery and frisbees (disc golf) seems to be the theme. Had many Archery ranges and Frisbee catchers. Had dog park also.
Very reasonable prices. Another camper told me the city now owns the park and is closing the RV park next March to update it with paved roads and adding sewer. I'm sure pricevwill go up then.

This was the first experience at a temple for our young sons, and they were enthralled. The monks were very friendly and welcoming, and the temple itself is lovely! They have free food on Sundays, I'd highly recommend a visit for that! Nearby to the Villas of Hickory Hills, it's a great way to get a nice dinner and experience some culture in the middle of nowhere!!

Instead of playing the Beau Rivage guest only Fazio course, Fallen Oaks, decided to try Shell Landing. It’s a Davis Live III designed course. There’s 5 tee boxes so it great for any level/gender/age golfer. Coming from drought stricken San Antonio it took an adjust from hitting off hard pan to green grass. The course had an awesome lay-out. Holes that look easy, surprisingly challenging. A lot of undulating greens, but pure rolls. Beautiful tall pines, great wildlife. Pro Shop well appointed and staff were great! Prices are very reasonable for the quality of the course.
I strongly suggest this course.well maintained and worth the trip. Be advised.. Uber or taxi will cost roughly $40 each way.

This golf course is now known as Hickory Hills CC. Really not that bad. A little rough in some places. Some really nice holes with water coming into play in a number of holes. #2 is a par 5 that you need to really lay up twice as you have to hit over water 2 times.. We were staying at the villas on hole #16 and got a discount. We paid $42 for golf, 6 beers, range balls and a ball marker, pret

I visit here every winter while I escape Minnesota snow--5 years now. This shop has a terrific variety of fabrics: colors, patterns, solids, batiks, patriotic themes, and other themes. Wide selection of tools. Classes available. Frequent buyers accumulate a discount. My husbands comes with and enjoys it too. Unique carts to stack bolts in makes covering the whole shop much easier.

This place is truly unique. Great family atmosphere. If you are interested in any type Board or card game - check this place out. The staff is friendly and always willing to help. There are also plenty of games that you can play or try out with absolutely no pressure to buy. If you are interested in buying, the prices are competitive and they have a lot of variety. Check this fun place out!

The place is supposedly smoke free but wreaks of cigarette smoke inside. The staff isn’t super rude, but they aren’t making any effort to make a good impression. The lanes are okay, not great, and not worth the price when you consider the other bowling alley 15 minutes away.

Great place for a bunch off dudes to smoke, drink and bowl. No good at all for a family.

We took a morning tour with Cathy and really enjoyed the experience. She is very friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about the local environment. Among other things, the tour provides the opportunity to see the local riverways, bayous, and swamps, which were all quite interesting, particularly since we are unfamiliar with this local landscape and enjoyed learning about the ecosystem, birds, animals, etc. If you enjoy this sort of thing, I strongly recommend Eco Tours.
