Along with its adjoining mansion, Tanglewood, which was demolished in 1977, Highfield Hall was originally surrounded by park-like gardens, carriage trails and almost 700 acres of woodlands.
We have been taking our three generation family there every summer and always enjoy the combination of history, nature and art that is our experience.

There are two parking lots one for residents and one for non...as a non resident you have to park there but walk over to resident side so you can be with the locals.
If you get there late enough you not only get to park close but also for free!

If driving, cost is $20 to park but it's all day and for our family of 4, figured it was like paying $5 admission each- totally worth it for a lovely afternoon.
Easy to get to but you have to pay to park and for people not from around there, it's expensive.

... Some breathtaking views as you round it's winding bends and curves, very peaceful communing with nature almost completely protected from traffic, quaint bridges, long stretches of beach, salt ponds where trees...
You can lock your bikes up at the car park for the ferry which is also the start of the bikeways for your return journey.
