Definitely worth doing if you’re in the area. Its a little over a one mile walk along the coast, and not really strenuous. Worth it for the views.

Perkins Cove has something for everyone. There are a few different (paid) parking lots or one may walk down Shore Road or the Marginal Way to reach the area with shops including art galleries and jewelry stores, and restaurants. From the Cove one may go on a sailboat or other boat excursion. There is a nice little harbor and wonderful drawbridge to walk across. It is a nice place to spend part of a day!

Beautiful beach for walking or relaxing. Water is cold so if you want to swim, bring wetsuit. I prefer this one to those in Kennebunkport.

Footbridge Beach was beautiful. The waves were kind of high the day we went, but they were so pretty. We enjoyed the sound of them crashing on the beach. It wasn't very crowded and we liked that. I gave 4 stars because the walk from the parking lot was VERY long and kind of narrow. It was hard carrying 2 beach chairs, a cooler, etc. We forgot our umbrella, and the sun was so strong. Don't forget something for shade.

Dramatically situated on the rocky Maine coast, this museum offers a variety of American art. We especially enjoyed the exhibit of political cartoonist, Jim Morin, which was very current. The docents and even the grounds keeper were knowledgeable and friendly! The small gift shop has well-chosen items. Be sure to get outside to the sculpture garden if you like your art with a view!

Gorgeous large beach. Very clean, great for relaxing. This is one beach that does not allow dogs, most do, so you can’t take your pooch with you. Parking is hourly or by the day, nice if you only want to stay a short time. There are also some free spots with 30 minute parking. Love this beach.

Really really really great lobsters, clams and mussels. Very welcoming. We have been coming here for years and this place never strays from being a treasure.

Romanesque and Romanesque Revival architecture aren’t very common in New England; so, when I was passing this Romanesque Revival building, I had to stop to admire it.

The stone construction, gabled roof, double doors at the entrance, and rounded tower made it look more like a small castle or a church.

Inside, I was greeted by the two librarians. They were friendly and helpful.

I learned that it was built as a library, not a church. It was on the National Register of Historic Places.

Looking around, I found that the tower had a staircase inside.

The library had a fireplace. That was the original heating system from when the library was built in 1897.

The two chairs in front of the fireplace created a cozy spot to sit and read on a winter afternoon. I plan to revisit then.

There was other comfortable seating to use at the reference table.

Browsing, I found a small section on local history.

There were a many selections in Fiction, Non-Fiction, and Children’s books.

In the Non-Fiction, I came across a book I’d seen prominently displayed in another library just as it was here. It was “1493: Uncovering the New World Columbus Created” by Charles Mann that explains the impacts on Europe and The Americas of Columbus’s exploration. He'd also written "1491" about The Americas before Columbus's arrival.

At the time of my visit, the library was getting ready for a book sale.

There was something of a relic on display ~ the original manual card catalog that was used before automation.

Although relatively small, I rate Ogunquit Memorial Library at 5.0, based mostly on the stunning architecture.

Whenever we come to Ogunquit we always stop here. The quality and uniqueness of the merchandise is almost as good as the customer service. The owner, Randy, is very personable with old school customer service skills. Prices are reasonable for the quality. Has private off street parking next to the shop

Everyone who attended the park was kind. There was so much for the dogs to do and place to roam, including the trail.

Last time we went to this antique shop was nine years ago. We felt that it has managed to maintain about the same level of merchandise - still lots to look at and interesting items to buy. Better than most shops we visited in the area. Convenient parking too which is important in Ogunquit.

When you tire of the beach, take a step back in time by visiting the Ogunquit Heritage Museum, just a short walk off Shore Road. The museum is located in a house built in 1780 and offers different displays including items used by lobster men, changing exhibits about people from Ogunquit in a restored house with original wide board floors and plaster walls.
