- Hopeark52Denton, TX10 contributionsEclectic paintings and sculptures that held my interest. The gardens and landscaping were made for a fun walk with plenty to see. Peaceful. Lots of benches for sitting and watching.Written 31 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Jpamr5Richmond, TX937 contributionsWe visited a little after 10 AM on Friday, October 29, 2021. Admission is free but donations are accepted and worth donating.
We selected the self-guided tour using a phone. Also picked up the self-guided tour brochure, also the docent (I believe his name was Kevin) added extra information and showed us how to pull the steam powered whistle. Explanations were short and understandable. Equipment was amazing and how the process was done over a hundred years ago.Written 29 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Mark CArlington, TX200 contributionsWe visited here one afternoon as it was close to the hotel. The aquarium itself does not have an abundance of sea animals but it had many interactive areas. Part inside and part outside, you could see many interesting animals (paddlefish, alligators, jelly fish, stingrays) and there were staff members there to answer questions and in many places, allowed you to touch the animals after washing your hands. Compared to other aquariums, it seemed smaller but the staff made it an enjoyable experience.Written 1 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- ShreveportAliasShreveport, LA37 contributionsGreat science center with interesting exhibits for all ages. It is very reasonably priced, and it provides something for all ages including pre-school children. I think it is the top attraction for a family to visit in Shreveport .Written 27 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Nancy A95 contributionsWhat a great place. The dioramas were so well done and very interesting. The building itself is wonderful. Well worth your time.Written 6 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Mark062017Bossier City, LA185 contributionsIf you’re into aeronautical history, then you should visit this place. There are several different types of aircraft on display and a museum too!Written 16 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- M JAustin, TX7,966 contributionsMy husband and I went to Walter B Jacobs Memorial Nature Park on a Tuesday morning. We did not see another person in the park. Before hiking a couple short trails, we viewed the live bird animal exhibits and deer pen. The birds included a bald eagle, a falcon, 2 different types of owls and a Mississippi Kite. There was one deer and she was on a special diet. The visitor’s center was closed, due to Covid-19. The trails were nice and had many foot bridges. Restrooms were available. The 160 acre park was about five miles of trails. Admission to the park is free. The park is open Wednesday – Saturday 8 am to 5 pm and Sunday 1pm to 5pm. I highly recommend this park if you like to hike.Written 1 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- SS_ForeverDallas, TX248 contributionsFirst brewery stop on our trip and easy location but very basic inside. They do have a full glass wall to see the brewery side which was nice. My husband (TractorMan) tried 5 beers. First went for the Octoberfest (as it is in season) and rated it a 2.5 out of 5 so not very good. APA (2) Wheat (2) Hazzy (3.5) Porter (4) and Brown (4.5). So Brown was the winner. Looking back at all the breweries we visited in this area the darker beers seemed better, wondering if the water profile leans more that direction.
We shared a burger that had their fancy bacon and it was very good. The bacon is a dessert. Food came out quick and everyone very friendly.
The glass blowing side of things was hard to understand. A few things around but not much and not together.
Good stop if in the area.Written 18 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - francolovinlifeDewey, OK5 contributionsGreat time! Staff very knowledgeable & helpful pertaining to the products. Sampled the Saison Gose flight. Life Itself Pink Guava is my fav. Oktoberfest is the Mr's fav.
We highly recommend!Written 24 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Becky R39 contributionsIf you go at night, stay in your car and view from your car. Not a safe neighborhood at night. View the lights and sights from your casino hotel room or walk the boardwalk on the Bossier side. Stay away from the Shreveport side after night fall. It's just not safe.Written 25 April 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Hopeark52Denton, TX10 contributionsAlthough roses were not in a major bloom in late May, the gardens were still worth the visit. The formal gardens were placed so that I felt I was often walking in the woods from one rose garden to another rose garden.Written 31 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- El1 contributionThey have a nice splash pads for little ones and they have great employees.
I wish they would add more bathrooms. It's very inconvenient with little ones needing to pee and have to walk to the bathroom and wait in line. It would be also nice if they provide showers to rinse off because this is the south, you can't really get rid of bugs and you just feel the need to rinse off after coming out of the crowded pool with a bunch of bugs and other stuff in there. Don't This raise your expectstions specially if youve visited other water parks. This the only water park in Caddo-Bossier parish and we're just grateful we have one here. We would keep coming back because it's still fun for the kids and us a great place to keep them active.Written 10 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - lahopeHenrietta, TX76 contributionsVery pretty surroundings. Lots of playground equipment that runs along the river. Lots of ducks and turtlesWritten 20 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Dan DViera, FL7 contributionsThis was a great activity for my 2 young grandchildren. Some of the goats could be rather pushy when the girls were trying to feed other animals! Overall this was reasonably priced. The staff went out of their way to be accommodating after those darn goats knocked down the feed bucket! We all had a very good time despite the June Louisiana mugginess. A few more mister fans could help. We were glad the bounce houses were in the shaded seating area!Written 4 July 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Skeney57Sydney, Australia21,349 contributionsI hope I can comment ? To me it's part of US History and you learn from History, you are not defined by It !! The Courthose & Square are the site of one of the last Confederate capitals & remember the surrender of 1865 and lowering of the Flag. I found it to be a great piece of statuary that reflected the times and mood. You don't tear down your historical markers, if they are beautiful you admire them, not the sentiment ! The only exceptions I can think of are Saddam's statues & Hitler's monstrosities ? Note, both Dictators ! Be thoughtful of your History , both good & bad.Written 24 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
