- Lisa STelford, Pennsylvania17 contributionsWe hiked up using the Sidewinder and Ruby Run trails and took the gondola down. It was a LOT of fun, but very strenuous! Be prepared that this hike is full of tree roots, creek crossings, and a lot of UPHILL hiking. Once you get to the top, the view is magnificent! Trails are well marked and maintained.Written 13 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sabrina S2 contributionsOne of my most favorite places to be! I love how this is a family run mountain and you see the same faces whenever you go. They are all so friendly from the lifts to the lodge to the rental and ticketing offices. With beautiful views, amazingly groomed trails to respectful boarders and skiers. I'll make the 5 hour trip there anytime!Written 25 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- traveler_53_09Breesport, NY72 contributionsAs always the view from the mountain is stunning. Unfortunately, we along with hundreds of other tourists, decided the Columbus Day weekend was the time to visit. If you're up for it and don't mind waiting over a half hour, along with the other tourists, it's well worth the waitWritten 13 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tom GPhoenixville, PA12 contributionsThe town of Lake Placid was very nice - the main street lined with many shops and restaurants. Mirror lake was beautiful. Plenty of scenic spots to relax and enjoy.
Never could access Lake Placid itself. So I have no idea what it looks like, They need to put some access points in to see the Lake.Written 8 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Great lodge area for those of us who cant walk well - windows overlooking nature area where youc an watch the birds and other scenery while waiting on hikers. There is a butterfly house but it was closed since it was already too late in the season - but would be fun in the summer.Written 23 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Pam AOttawa, Canada5 contributionsI thoroughly enjoyed this hike…my first solo summit! The weather was mild & the sun partially came out for the amazing 360 view. I had the entire trail & peak to myself as I went during the week….oh what a gift!! The trail was extremely well marked which I very much appreciated. I most highly recommend to anyone thinking of doing a summit hike anywhere in the Adirondacks!!Written 18 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - golfnerd3 contributionsIf you are in the area this is the most amazing waterfront campground. The local areas of Speculator and Lake Pleasant and Piseco provide the summertime experience of pure nature and tranquility. - Fairport TravelersFairport, NY704 contributionsWalked from the Golden Arrow Inn to the very top was 2.25 miles. From the trailhead to the very top was appx .8 miles so definitely a very short hike, some spots are a little challenging for people with mobility or in shape issues, but I found it quite easy. Views from the top are OK.Written 16 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- KLF95Arlington, MA82 contributionsGreat easy hike for a few hours. Fantastic views. Would be a great trail run, too. There is a loop version, but we were warned by locals that the longer section was really muddy and buggy, so we didn't go that way (early July).Written 2 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Merry J1 contributionWonderful people here at RRO! They were so helpful to us in the planning phase of our canoe trip and the packs, canoe, bear canister we rented were top notch. I cannot recommend them enough!

They are highly professional and yet very friendly, and clearly really know the river. We went in September and used wet suit tops/spray jackets, and our own pants etc. and since we had very warm weather it was perfect. Magic Matt (our guide) told us about each set of rapids before we headed in, so we knew what to expect. I've rafted lots of places across North America and this trip was really spectacular. Highly recommend. Would totally go with them again, and they have tours all around the area.Written 30 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
