What travellers are saying
- Spandana N2 contributionsWith deers, peacocks and rabbits running in the open, view historic ruins of the British when they used the island pre-independence. The island is also aesthetic for photo taking with palm trees, teal water and red walls and roofs! Entry fee is Rs 50 per head, recommend to walk if you have the time, if not, the cart cab is Rs 80 per head and will take you to the viewpoint at the top.Written 15 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- JAYANTA KUMAR CPune, India92 contributionsWe travelled by MAK3 Pearl from Havelock island to Port Blair on Monday 9th May 2022. The ferry had been suspended for two days prior to this because of the Government warning about Cyclone Asani. Naturally the ship was very crowded on both inbound and outbound trips.
This is a very fast, comfortable and air-conditioned ship run by a competent crew.
The weather was good on land at the time of our starting but the open sea was extremely turbulent, tumultuous and rough.
I had read about the unpredictable weather and ferry services of the Andamans even before I came here. So I had taken the precaution of allowing a 24-hour of margin of error/ unpredictable problems for my flight ticket out of Port Blair on the following day. That was a wise decision.
All ships plying in these seas can have unpredictable delays based on the weather. In these situations the Harbour Master is the final deciding authority to allow or disallow the boats to ply.
In my case the sea turned rough within fifteen minutes of starting from Havelock island. It was a turbulent, tumultuous, and an unbelievably rough crossing.
One moment the ship was riding the crest of a very high wave and the next moment it was slamming down into the following trough. It was very much like a roller coaster ride.
This went on for the most part of our journey of one hour and forty five minutes.
The cabin crew did their best to assist the 250 passengers most of whom were throwing up their breakfast and possibly the dinner. At some point it seemed that there weren't enough sea sickness bags to go around.
I was happy that at least there were enough life boats for the passengers. But to be practical, no life boat could have saved us from those gigantic waves.
It was a miracle and the extreme competence of the Captain and the crew that safely delivered us to the Haddo jetty in Port Blair even though we were an hour behind time .
I'm sure that many of the passengers might have missed their flights due to the various delays in the ferry service.
All I can say is that it is impossible to budget for the weather related contingencies while travelling in the Andamans.Written 12 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - ankur kandoiSiliguri, India587 contributionsits a beautiful island.. its open only for some months and only limited guests are allowed..

Last 1.2 km road to Chidiya tapu beach is full of lush green jungle . If you walk through this 1.2 km narrow road you will enjoy the nature and will have different feeling about this place. There in no other activities and swimming is not allowed at the beach, however you can enjoy this place.Written 7 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- HariKrishna A4 contributionsEverything inside is very hygiene, different varieties of shell, coral reef, 1-2 dead fishes, first time saw lion fish as well. And Rudraksha tree as well as nouni tree is being installed for tourism use. Feels that everything inside is same for more than 5 yrs more like aquarium museum available in Chennai and West Bengal where everything is same for more than 5 yrs.Written 30 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

Decent Private Ferry service. The tuck shop is well stocked and passengers are allowed to stand on Deck. Melodious music instead of Punjabi would be welcomedWritten 15 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - sahebrayDurgapur, India7 contributionsWe spent a full day in reaching and spending some time at this place. The trip takes you through a ferry from Chatham and is an experience in itself. The visitor centre was mounted on the hilltop with views of the bay. But the best part was the trek ( which we were not aware of initially) to Kalapathar from there. It is a 5 km up-down trek which you can easily embark on with the kids. We were told of this and could only go half the way before we had to turn back in order to make it in time for the 2:00 pm ferry.Written 16 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

Need appropriate interest level to enjoy. The time needed: ˜30 mins.
The old building; though maintained decently, could be better.
The ticket issuer could be a little polite.Written 13 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Indranil MJamshedpur, India7 contributionsEverything at Andaman is a new experience for the travelers stays at mainland. It's a thrill that I am in an island. Otherwise Cellular Jail and Aquarium and Marina Park is a trio and very close to each other. Aquarium species is almost a different from any other part of India. Few of them are very rare too. Park is also enriched with adventures and spending some beautiful time with family or partners. So love this place.Written 14 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
