Our excellent guide, Geraldine, took us on a brief tour of the museum and its fascinating artifacts and articles, then led us below to relate the history and work of the people at the mines on Bell Island.
He had many fun and interesting stories straight from his grandfathers who worked in the mine making both the museum tour and underground in the mine fascinating and wonderful.

It was a terrific museum, with knowledgable and friendly staff.
I read the reviews and had to stop to find out why a barn off the side of the road was the best Museum in NL.
The Rooms St. John's

I've been to museums all over the world but The Rooms is really a standout with an exceptionally designed building and well presented historical and contemporary artifacts and artwork.
Lots of quality information in the historical museums; I very much enjoyed the Gerald Squires art gallery (not permanent)/

This is one of the best museums in Canada!
It looks a bit ramshackle, but it's truly a labour of love: fishermen, poet, collector, historian: Dave has built a truly amazing museum.

The well laid out museum houses a wealth of exhibits, many original, that tell the story of this inspirational pioneer of medicine and mission.

This was a beautiful and informative museum for the area.
I think that the thing that made this museum tour so interesting was that our group was given a personal tour by the owner.

We loved this museum - well set out, very helpful and knowledgeable staff - if we'd had more time we would have done the guided tour.
An excellent museum providing a fairly detailed history of local wooden boat-building history.
