She made a ton of information easily digestible, and it was clear that she was passionate about Tybee. I had no clue just how much history was on the island, and it really made me appreciate this small section of Georgia. The golf cart was comfortable, the sights were cool, and she even knew the best places to snap some pictures of me and my husband. - PattyMinnesota62 contributionsOur tour guide, Stephanie, did a great job on our day tour. We had a shorter tour of Savannah to start. We were given a pick up near our hotel to join the group at their tour office. We started with lunch at The Crab Shack. It is a quirky restaurant. They have a baby alligator pond that is interesting to watch! A little too much time here. Then we went to the Dolphin Tour which was the best part of the tour. Very enjoyable! Then we ended the day with a trip to a lighthouse. You had a choice to tour the lighthouse, go to the beach, go to a nature center, or get a drink at a bar. We were dropped off near our hotel.
The only thing I didn’t like was that the tour was a on a trolley type bus. This tour was a great way to hit a lot of the highlights of Savannah and Tybee Island. Bill was awesome! Very knowledgeable and accommodating. - GBWHFLWinter Haven, FL9 contributionsWonderful experience. Andy spent a lot of time explaining the very interesting history of the area. The city squares were explained in detail. Tybee Island was very cool. Fort Pulaski National Monument was another highlight. Bonaventure Cemetery was rather unique, with many interesting family connections. This was a really fun and informative tour, our adult kids had a great time as well. Almost new van was excellent as well. - Madison WOrlando, FL1 contributionThis is meh. I found that the two hours went by VERY quickly, especially if you want to learn/explore the places the hunt takes you to. We did get to see some cool things; however, I didn't see the direct benefit of doing this vs doing these activities on my own. Technically, the activities within the scavenger hunt were free, but if you actually wanted to enter those places and explore OR park anywhere on the island, you did have to pay, which there is no discount for those activities. - Kristin RNYC513 contributionsThis was a decent tour, especially considering it gets you to Tybee which is hard if you don't have a vehicle.
The ride there is about 30 min. We had lunch at the Crab Shack, which was a good choice.
We discovered that although the ride is advertised as 5 hours, it's really 5.5 hours. Our entire van of people (two groups) needed to be back in Savannah at 5 - not 5:30 - so they modified the trip for us. Unfortunately this meant a shorter bike ride rather than less time at the beach area which was only so-so.
