Wonderful history, great information and lots to explore and learn! The whole family enjoyed this stop! Kids did the junior ranger tour and had a good time! National park passes of any type work here.

I always wanted to climb a lighthouse so while we were visiting Savannah we drove to Tybee to the lighthouse. There is ample parking. It is $12 to get into the lighthouse and museums. It is 178 steps to the top with a platform every 25 steps to take a break. There is only 1 handrail and the people going up have to give way to the people coming down. You can walk around the platform at the top and the view is amazing.

We really enjoyed the turtle talk! It was very informative and we learned a lot. Admission to the Marine center is included when you book the talk, so this was well worth it. All the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.

My first time bringing the family to Tybee Island. We used VRBO to rent a house for the week. We stayed on the north side of the island near the lighthouse. The north side of the beach is less crowded. The beach itself is most enjoyable late in day during low tide. I was surprised at how early business close on the island. The North Beach Bar and Grill was within walking distance from our house. It closed around 8pm every night. I was also surprised at the lack of fresh seafood on several restaurant menus. Also, be prepared to pay for parking, which you’ll have to do If you drive any where on the island and park.

The beach was very well cleaned, and it was easy to park. We were able to see many cool things like a pod of dolphins, pelicans feeding, and even found a sea star

You had to go to the fort, museum and park to be able to get close enough to see the lighthouse. They are making a tiki overlook that will be open my St. Patrick’s Day by derricks dolphin venue on the island.

By far our favorite spot on the island. Less packed, there were sometimes we were the only ones on beach. We visited in the evening. You have to walk to the spot. The public walking path is at the end of a private drive and no vehicles are allowed in the area. People will be ticketed if they violate the rules. It is a lovely spot and deserves to stay that way. Just like all Tybee Island beaches you can see dolphins and find treasures on shore.

We enjoyed our visit to this small museum. Lots of information about Fort Screven, the batteries built there and of Tybee Island in its heyday.
The volunteer staff from the heritage society were friendly and helpful.
I thought they had done well to lay the information and artefacts out into a coherent whole, utilising the space which had formerly stored the ammunition etc for the guns in the batteries.

I had an enjoyable afternoon at the Tybee Post Theater. They provide a wonderful place for kids and parents to socialize and have fun. Parking is limited in front of the theater. You may have a long walk to the entrance if you arrive late. The theater is well-maintained and has a concession stand and apparel for sale. The ballet instruction offers a structured program beneficial to the mind and body. Experienced dancers teach the lessons. They are paid but most of the financial support for the theater comes from community donations. The theater serves a wide age range. Even the little ones get positive feedback for their efforts. This is an outstanding environment provided by the community for the community. The lighting combined with the dancing made a great combination. The lights did give my camera a hard time though. The chairs were comfortable, and I liked how they slightly reclined. After seeing several shows from different locations, I don’t believe there is a bad seat in the theater. Everyone at the theater was friendly, helpful, and professional. I am looking forward to the next performance.

Pretty beach and great for families. Not as crowded as Southern part by public parking. The farther south you go the rowdier and more crowded this beach gets.
