What travellers are saying
- O Society13 contributionsThis was incredible.
The whole P Dog crew took a chopper to this amazing location to eat breakfast at Base Camp.
We all took a special item, like we were on Desert Island Discs.
Al - an enormous 10 litre bottle of Red and some diapers, in case of emergency
Owen - a satellite image of Africa and a never ending supply of the C word
Dan - a bicycle, rucksack and a pallet of cider
Rousseau - a limitless credit card and 6 stools
TNT - a bakery and a pizza wheel
R Horn - a football and a memory for the Golden Age
E Mo - a small van and a coat
Scooby - a rope and handcuffs
Lucie - a pair of scissors
We attempted the climb but only two made it.
E struggled with altitude, T with the incline, D with the lack of puncture repair solutions, R with the undulation, S with the distance, L with the scarcity of tennis balls, O with the general political situation and oxygen deprivation ... Leaving A and R to summit the great peak.
At the top, placing his flag A declared "I f'ing love you Russ" to which R replied "one for the road?"
We all made it back safe and Covid-free.
I can't wait until the next one. God Save The Queen. Long Live P Dog!Written 5 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Ayala BidermanIsrael17 contributionsNice lake in Sagarmatha National Park with crystal-clear water. Such a wonder of nature. It is recommended to pay a visit and take photos when you do the trekking to Mt EverestWritten 22 May 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Dan PMinneapolis, MN25 contributionsWhile the trek to EBC is amazing, the Kala Patthar summit is even more breathtaking .. and quite an accomplishment! Getting to EBC is great, and it’s so fun to stand directly below earth’s highest point, however, getting to the top of Kala Patthar leads to stunning views of some of the highest mountains in the world and the closest view you’ll ever get of Mt. Everest. Also, the view of Pumori is quite impressive as you trek up the mountain. I can’t wait to go back someday!Written 14 November 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- aajo10Bengaluru, India4 contributionsIf you are in Namche, you must try to take a trip to the Sherpa Museum. It's a very short hike from the town, but it's worth it - You will not only get to see a slice of Sherpa culture, but will also get to see some great moments in stories from the Everest region. Lakhpa Soman ji is an amazing photographer and if you are lucky you might get to meet him.Written 26 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- PetroliaTravellerPetroliaTraveller33 contributionsPathibhara temple is reached by a steep climb, anywhere from 3 to 5 hours depending on your fitness. The old path has now been replaced by stairs. There are several villages where you can get refreshments during the first half of the climb. At the last village you can get overnight accommodations if you wish to do the final stage early in the morning. You can also hire a car in Taplejung to take you over a rough and bumpy 4WD road to the foot of the mountain.
After a strenuous climb the magnificent view of Kanchenjunga and surrounding mountains unfolds before you, silent, powerful and breathtaking. The pathway to the sacred temple is strung with hundreds of bells. The image of the mountain goddess/Devi resides in the temple.Written 1 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - SÃlvia RAlmada, Portugal3 contributionsGood museum in Namche. Love this place. Lot of information about namche available here. Climbing information also available. My guide Raju and trek company with Himalayan leisure in Thamel arrange this visit to Namche National Park Museum. This is good place. Enjoy
Sorry, my english no good.Written 8 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - utshab niroulaCincinnati, OH7 contributionsA historic place with a rich culture. Not too far from local transportation services. Some sort of belief in the region to make it one of the major popular cultural destinations among travelers.Written 7 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Johan Doe8 contributionsDudh (milk) river is all the way down from Thame village which is few hours above Namche Bazar which on the way to Renjola pass.Written 16 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- mittagongprintMittagong, Australia43 contributionsThis is the most distinctive mountain on the EBC trek, can pick it out from almost anywhere. Means Mother and Child, so we were told. The nearest we got to it was at Dengboche and it only for serious mountaineers to climb, but looks goodWritten 9 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- barcarangerAndorra la Vella, Andorra1,479 contributionsHaving visited iEBC the day before you get up reasonably early between say 4am and 6 am and head up for sunrise. The day I went up it was -15 but no wind. It’s a huge effort I reckon less than 15 percent of the people at Gorek Shep made it to the top whereas 70 percent made EBC. At the top the view is amazing 360 degrees but you can see Everest from only a few hundred meters along the path . What I forgot was I had a long trek afterwards which nearly killed me but well worth it. I hear at sunset it maybe even better .Written 19 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- mittagongprintMittagong, Australia43 contributionsA bit of a climb from Namche Bazaar but well worth it. Sit on the balcony with a cup of tea and soak in the views, Everest is a long way off but easy to see.Written 9 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Daithà ÓDublin, Ireland115 contributionsThe glacier is just constantly moving and is like walking on the moon. Everything is grey! It looks dormant but the noise of shifting shale and moving ice will let you know that under all that stone lies a 'living' glacier, ever moving and cutting into the mountain side. There is no easy and direct route through the glacier, just follow the markings left by others. Ribbos, blue arrows, little stone pyramids, etc. On the way to or from Gokyo after/before the Cho la Pass, the glacier awaits you. Enjoy the little areas where water is trapped or the actual ice is visible. It is easy to forget that you will be traversing a living glacier for quite a period of time!Written 8 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Mona LKathmandu, Nepal166 contributionsWe hiked uphill in the Tea Garden and all the way to the top of the observation tower to get a good view of the area. We then enjoyed tea on the sunny terrace at the foot of the tower. Enjoyable!Written 11 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- DjangoDjangoFreiburg im Breisgau, Germany559 contributionsThis trip is one of the best things to do in Nepal.
Find a good Rafting Company ( GRG or Drift Nepal)
And go do the 8-9 days rafting trip on the Sun Kosi.
You will have beautiful mountains, wild animals and white beaches every night and authentic villages.
You will see authentic Nepal and have a great time.
There are wilder rivers but this one is the perfect one for starters as the other rivers are too wild and technical.
Best period October, November as the monsoon will be finished and the water will be wildWritten 14 October 2014This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
