This museum is a national treasure. To get the most out of your visit, take the 90-120 minute guided tour with a retired military expert (if everyone in your group is up for it). You will not regret planning your visit around one of the scheduled tour times. The enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guides bring the history of numerous planes and artifacts to life. They provide context that enhances the experience of seeing the historical crafts up close. I got chills as I touched bullet holes on the plane that survived the Battle of Midway and then had to be pulled up from the bottom of Lake Michigan. I doubt I would have had that reaction had I not been educated by such a skillful storyteller.
You might also want to plan your day around a particular IMAX film. Each day, several movies, 25-40 minutes in length on a broad range of topics, are shown.
The Cubi Bar Café, operating only between 11 AM and 2 PM, is a replica of the famous Cubi Point Officers Club in the Republic of the Philippines, which is where Navy and Marine Corps squadrons, ships, and units went to unwind as they passed into the Western Pacific. The Club was most famous for its "Plaque Bar, where transiting squadrons retired old plaques and commissioned new ones to commemorate each WestPac deployment." The tradition of hanging plaques in the bar began during the Vietnam War and continued until the base closed in 1992, at which time the thousands of plaques that had decorated the walls of the Club were shipped to the National Naval Aviation Museum to be displayed in the replica cafe. Even if you choose not to refuel in the Cubi Bar Cafe, be sure to at least walk through to be transported to a faraway place that represents an important period in America's military history .
Flight Deck (The Museum Store) is well-stocked with a variety of mostly military themed items in a range of prices. Many children will be eager to construct a customized teddy bear.
After visiting the National Naval Aviation Museum, drive across the street to climb 177 steps to the top of the iconic Pensacola Lighthouse, where you will gasp at breathtaking views of the Gulf Coast (or because you are out of breath!)

Visited the lighthouse in conjunction with our visiting the Air Museum (different day). Really nice historic lighthouse, lots of history. Nice visit even if you don't climb to the top; lots of artifacts and history in the light-keepers quarters. Climb up is challenging, but not too bad; I'm 70 and did it. Just have to pace yourself and take breaks. Terrific view up there and knowledgeable volunteer at top landing.

Quietest ballgame I’ve ever been to. Packed house but no fan “noise”. Regardless, great team, great vibe, great time!!

I know Pensacola Beach is the go to beach for just about everyone who visits Pensacola, and for good reason, it's perfect for hanging out and do some people watching, plenty of bars, restaurants, gift shops, large parking lot, etc. But I feel that Johnson Beach deserves some love as well.

Johnson Beach is quite the opposite of Pensacola Beach, there are some restaurants in the area, but it's not as walkable as Pensacola Beach. It's got white sands, clear water, a nearby trail, and large gazebos. This Beach is fantastic! Perfect for walking or going on a job.

Johnson Beach is ideal for those looking for a more relax atmosphere, maybe do a little fishing, or celebrating a special occasion. I personally enjoy it a little more than Pensacola Beach, I love coming here to do a light jog, and sometimes just to be a beach bum.

You pay a fee to park, I like getting the annual pass for $45, I feel it's well worth it. They also offer free public parking a few blocks before you hit the main entrance. It's not as big as the main lot just get there early enough and you'll have more luck finding a parking spot. Orange Beach is just further down the road from Johnson Beach if you want to try something different. Johnson Beach is one of my favorite Beaches, It's truly a hidden gem in Pensacola.

My family had a great time exploring historic downtown Pensacola. It is FULL of crazy interesting history. We spent the day visiting as much as we could. There are a lot of places that are included with your ticket and your ticket last a week long. We didn’t get through everything, and sadly didn’t make it back. It is such a good time. Take the guided tour through the historic village, it was really interesting and fun to go into the old buildings. Our tour guide Fletcher was so knowledgeable and full of information. The kids museum was geared toward small children, but we still had a good time with my 11 year old daughter.

Small place to feed the birds. Some were very sweet. It was very hot so go earlier in the day if you can. Taco was my favorite!

The fort is a well-curated restored historic site. The visitor's center was closed when we were there, but the brochure and historic markers filled in the information.

Hats off to you, Pensacola. Volunteers and city officials orchestrated the creation of one of the most inclusive, thoughtful, and well-maintained veterans' memorials that I have seen. Though necessarily on a smaller scale, the park's monuments and statues rival some of the most significant memorials in America.
Every visitor to Pensacola should make the effort to visit this beautiful "attraction." The park is situated in a prime location within city limits and has open space where families can picnic, etc. When I visited, a father and son were flying a kite. I am certain that the service members who paid the ultimate sacrifice and their gold star families would be happy to know that such an activity is possible on this soil because freedoms have been preserved by courageous souls like the ones honored at Pensacola's Veterans' Memorial Park.

We liked walking the boardwalk trail. We spotted a bald eagle, and some turtles in the water. We also went down to the observation tower and saw the beach area there. It is small, but pretty.
