We rented kayaks/canoes to go up river to the springs and loved it. They have a great dock to help people in and out of canoes/kayaks. We had a great time paddling up river and got out at the springs to hang out a bit and then made the trek back. Had a great lunch, very delicious. One of the highlights of our trip.

Though easy to get to, it is basically the remnants of what was a beautiful giant historical tree... I believe it was called The Senator. Entire area is very old Florida. The tree could have come down during the many hurricanes and sadly the inside of the trunk was badly burned when a homeless person made a fire to keep warm on winter.

I hiked a few of the trails here and they were very nice. Decent amount of biodiversity and saw a gopher tortoise. The trails are woodsy which I like. The educational plaques have seen better days though. Staff on site were very friendly.
