Other companies were charging approximately $50 per person for a three-hour tour. - gsmmomEastern shore, Maryland10 contributionsGreat first jet ski and Keys (Islamorada) experience. Josh was our guide through the mangroves and out to the sandbar. He kept us safe with the open water and weather. He even dissuaded us from upgrading (which is more $) because he knew the previous nights storm would not allow a great snorkeling view. We were fortunate enough to see a hammerhead shark! Emilio was our initial safety and operator instructor and at the end provided us with the best lunch dining options in the area. - Jeff BChapel Hill, NC4 contributionsWe had a great time on our Half Day Private Boat Tour with Jessie. Jessie was super friendly, knowledgeable a good boat captain and tour guide. I took the family and we snorkeled on Alligator Reef and Chicks and Hens reef. We saw a large dolphin pod off Alligator reef and we stopped in the mangroves to see a manatee just hanging out under the mangrove trees. A fun boat ride to each location and really good to be on a private tour with Jessie.

We wanted to start out tour in Key West and drive to Miami over 2-3 days, stopping along the way. The tour said it could be used either way but when we got to Key West it wouldn’t reverse. He took us through some canals where we were able to see some amazing homes and boats while waiting for the perfect time to get us into the best spot to witness a beautiful sunset. - thatfoodandtravelguyClear Spring, MD7 contributionsAfter meeting Captain Jack (yes, his real name) and first mate Sarah, we were given the option of going straight out to the sandbar or we could be given a quick tour of the large, waterfront houses that dotted the shoreline. We chose the latter, and Jack knew lots of info and gave us lots of great stories. We then headed out to the sandbar and anchored amongst the other boats (about 30-40). There was lots of room to store our gear and plenty of ice onboard for our drinks and snacks. The water was warm and came up to about chest high when we got in. It was fun to wander in the surf, sip a beverage, and talk to all of the people mingling around the sandbar. The different boats were also fun to look at. We even saw a few rays gliding by in the surf! Jack and Sarah were also very conscious of litter or plastic floating around in the water (as it is a danger to wildlife), and they would stop and fish it out of the surf on the way in and out. We later saw Jack and Sarah on the restaurant deck where we had lunch (Hog Heaven), and he stopped by again to check on us and answer any questions - even getting us a 10% discount on our meal. A great, relaxing day on the water with two fantastic hosts. This year we chose Wild Lime Adventures to plan and lead our tour to the Everglades and Dry Tortugas. We chose right. Ben, the owner, was very responsive as we communicated back and forth about what we were looking for. Our trip was a Wed-Mon with four full days of adventure planned.
Our guides were Lindsay and Darren. They were full service. They picked us up at the airport and stayed with us the entire tour. They each have degrees in the science and are extremely knowledgeable about the vegetation, wildlife, and parks. We had 11 people on each van and had room for our luggage. ( 1 suitcase and backpack each).
Day one: Everything Everglades. A wet walk through a cypress dome, a 90 boat ride through the 10,000 islands mangrove forest.
Day two: drive to key west. Along the way we stopped at the Wild Bird Sanctuary, Robbie’s fish camp, and Bahia Honda State park. Once we arrived in Key West we visited the Ernest Hemingway house, the African Slave Memorial and the Southernmost Point.
Day three: Dry Tortugas National Park. This is a full day experience that you should hands down try if you ever have the opportunity. The snorkeling is unreal. The water was so clear!
Day four: we drove back to Fort Lauderdale. We had a kayak tour through mangrove channels and did a 1 hour snorkeling tour of Hens and Chickens reef. The snorkeling was out of this world! The fish and coral we saw was absolutely incredible. The kayak adventure was relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable as well.
Day five: Airboat ride through Everglades sawgrass. We met “Gar” the gator and saw a lot of wildlife.
Our meals were planned at local favorites. If you are ever in Florida City/Homestead please go visit Fonda Familiar Mexican. We also ate at City Hall Bistro. In Key West we ate at El Siboney and Dante’s.
Our all inclusive experience with Wild Lime was top notch! You won’t be worry. Lindsay was my van driver and I cannot compliment her enough. She was professional, fun and informative!!! Our students had the trip of a lifetime. Darren, the driver of the other van, was kind, calm and so helpful. He always put our needs first.
