- NinaKennebunk, ME1 contributionCheck in was friendly and efficient. We got right out in the boats without waiting. The day was pretty busy with lots of other kayakers, but we found some quiet and secluded areas to explore and enjoy the peacefulness of being out on the water.Written 20 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Natasha L8 contributionsBeautiful birds and a great organization to support. So many Raptors and we got to see a hawk fed by a trainer. So cool! Nice spot to bring family.Written 3 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Michelle C3 contributionsWe absolutely loved meeting the dolphins and seeing the facility. It was a favorite event of the trip!! Someone even took pictures of us with the dolphins from afar so that we could remember the experience. I wasn't expecting that, and very much appreciated it.Written 18 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Glenn GMontreal, Canada33 contributionsAn unexpected delightful stop during our daytrip tobthe keys.
Great oceanside location for a picnic or photo shoot.
We didn't swim there but the area had a protected beach area with breakers, so no waves.Written 27 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. But they did provide a map of the keys and gave us some discount coupons to some restaurants and attractions. The Chamber of Commerce is a little further down the road.Written 21 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - lilicedtKey Largo, FL126 contributionsThis is one of those old Keysey legends that everyone knows about but not many have been to. It's a green lagoon oceanside that's been blocked off and somewhat protected. Unfortunately, that has also caused the silting problem to get pretty bad.
That said, it's got so many amazing businesses operating within this Undersea Park. First, there's Jules' Undersea Lodge, a submersed hotel underwater (~21 ft below the surface) that can only be accessed via scuba diving. It sits in the far back corner (look for the bubbles). The lodge is fully equipped with a shower, bathroom, beds, coffee machine, wifi, and pizza delivery (sometimes by a free-diving mermaid, if you're lucky!). Jules also has a small garden underwater growing actual living plants! It's rad, and the goal is to show that we can harness the underwater world and natural condensation processes to grow food to feed the masses. Next to Jules is my favorite dive operator in the keys -- Island Ventures! They're "Stress free diving!" motto is so true. Every trip out with them is full of excitement and joy, even if it's choppy seas and cold weather. They live and believe that the worst day on the water is still better than the best day in the office, and it shows. Finally, there's Marine Lab, a cool educational outfit with old undersea laboratories on site for viewing.
The land leading to the underwater park has lots of random underwater memorabilia (like a shark from an old Shark Week feature coming through the fence), Old escape hatches painted to show Hurricane Irma's damage, and old school research laboratories. Underwater, there's several structures within the park (long tubes, big oil drum, etc.) that staff will tour you around to see.
Wildlife that's been seen in the underwater park: manatees, fish, moray eels, jellyfish.Written 6 December 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The ground was dry and this seems the off season as no birds or flora blooming.Written 26 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Star NGreenville, SC309 contributionsThere is sand to sit and sun on just not at the waters edge. The Keys are limestone so the waters edge is sharp rocks. Plenty of nice areas to look out to sea, watch the boats launch, sit on a bench, picnic, or walk around. Large restroom area that was well stocked. There was road work right before getting there and construction vehicles park everywhere but still plenty of parking room on a nice 70s degree January day.Written 1 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Richard N45 contributionsAs Florida reefs go, this is not too bad. There is an abundance of fish and some interesting geography. At these depths, bottom times of 50 to 60 minutes are common.Written 25 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
