- coolmammaa1,853 contributionsVery beautiful place with trails along the coast.
Sand is very fluffy, so, tough to walk on.
If you dont get there early, will be very tough to find parking but it seems ppl dont stay too long… make sure you cross the street to visit the beach… this is where the rocks areWritten 13 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Reed Hobe Sound National Wildlife Refuge is part of the U.S. National Wildlife Refuge System. It is located in the Town of Jupiter Island in Florida. This is the perfect spot to learn about the local animal habitats. This great for the kids to enjoy and explore nature at its natural beauty. The Staff and Rangers are very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. The trails are nice and lead to an amazing white sandy beach.Written 30 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bal4 contributionsPeck Lake Park is not very busy, but has many picnic tables set underneath covers. Would recommend for picnics! There is also a trail near the end of the park. While the boardwalk is a little long, it is worth the view of the Intercoastal. At the end of the walk, you have access to the water, and good view of it on a large, railed platform that also has another covered table (which you'll be able to see fish and other marine life from on good days).Written 29 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Duffle Bag TravelerWest Palm Beach, FL129 contributionsYou can stop by the Hobe Sound Chamber of Commerce and pick up a free map of the area displaying about 23 local Murals with descriptions and area markers. The local map allows you to plot your own mural tour and plan whether to drive, walk, or rent a bike. The Chamber of Commerce also offers help with mural route and sells very economical matted beach prints of local artists. There is also another option of an Artist-guided tour for small groups. This is the best way to explore the charm of Hobe Sound, FL. We stopped at three Murals and it was interactive, fun for whole family. The area was safe, friendly and local eateries and only a couple blocks from beach.Written 19 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - HelloagainSaint Louis, MO10 contributionsJust a little place, home-spun, with plenty of books you'll want to tote with you to the beach or pool if you're a fan of Florida and local history. The owner Val is a wonderful fellow, SO knowledgeable and pleasant- amazing things he knows about the area!!
Books range from history, maps, cooking, novels, drama, short stories, treasure hunting, pirates... new books, old books, a little bit of a little bit of everything. Hours are sporadic- be sure to knock on the door, usually there most weekday mornings. It's a stop for us every time we're in town, just to see what's new & catch up on the changes in Florida and visit with charming Val!!Written 28 June 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Other parts of this 10,000 + acre park are more indicative of landscapes throughout the state so as far as variety goes, you get to experience a lot of terrain in one park. There are dune lakes, pine prairie, wetlands and one of only two protected rivers in Florida, the Loxahatchee. So much history here which is well illustrated in the interpretive center. It is a world class mountain biking destination so just be aware of that if you want to do more casual biking to request trail maps at the rangers station. There are about 80 beautiful full service campsites closest to the entrance and more campsites with electric and water only at the river. Bath houses and sites were very clean. Beaches with clear blue water are available on Hobe Sound or the Atlantic within a 10-15 min. drive.
