Small museum worthy of a visit to learn about Backus and his influence on the Highwaymen artists of Florida. Well displayed and informative descriptions. Nice area of Fort Pierce.

I enjoy how friendly the artist are here. They are available to discuss their art and process.. My favorite loft is the Sq Grouper. Artist Ethel Rowland is a priceless gen in the art community.

Lisa Jill Allison Art Gallery is enchanting, fun and refreshing place in the heart of downtown Fort Pierce, FL.

A great selection of original paintings for every style and budget.

Lisa is friendly, outgoing and takes the time to learn what your art needs are.

Her new book "Lisa's Little Secrets" is now available and is a heartwarming story of love and hope.

There is only one original highway man artist still alive I believe but that doesn't stop folks from seeking these famous artworks. The gallery is worth a visit and the conversation can be interesting about the 'backstory' of these famous artists whose fame has come to exceed their mentor, AEBackus.

If you can find something you can't live without and it is a good price, then it is a successful antiquing experience. I especially liked the highwaymen paintings. The Highwaymen exhibit is as good as a museum, but you can buy them. We actually attended an event in their parking lot when a Highwayman artist was demonstrating his painting. We were able to meet and talk to the nice man and take photos. He had been an art teacher like my husband.

We have been here on a previous visit to Florida. We returned again staying in Vero Beach as before. It is a nice drive down Hwy 1 to Ft. Pierce. They have a really large variety of antiques and collectibles here and one could spend several hours looking. I think we were there about 2 hours this time. They also have an outside area selling mostly garden decor or other outdoor curios. We purchased a few things here to take back to Minnesota and the prices are reasonable on many things if you are willing to seek them out. Staff here are friendly and helpful.

I have lived in many parts of Florida and the country and have yet to find anybody that compares to the selection and freshness of the products they carry. I live in Hilliard Florida and on a recent trip to visit relatives made sure it included a trip to Nelsons(left one of the bags I purchased in their fridge not happy). So bottom line if your ever even close try it you won't be disappointed.

Their dark chocolate is very good with a large selection. Prices seem high but hey, it's a treat, right?

We happened to be downtown Fort Pierce and were wandering around looking in at shops. When we came to Hwy 1, and directly across from the courthouse there we saw Niang. We had to go in and explore what was inside. This is quite a large store all on one level. It is chock full of imported items from Africa, some are antique, some newer finely crafted items. All mediums of artwork are represented: wood, pottery, statues, paintings, baskets, jewelry, leather. They also sell musical instruments, clothing as well as soaps, oils and incense. While we were there we watched the owner working with Shea Butter which they also sell. Very friendly owner and staff here. It is an amazing place.
