We parked and then walked up and down the boulevard. It was only $3 for parking, but you need their app. We stopped and had some drinks along the way. I thought the boulevard would have been longer.

We have been to this beach several times when we have visited the city. It is always very pleasant. The beach is well cared for. On this visit we were fortunate to see the ss United Stated sail by under tow.

I'm so happy we visited Bonnet House and did the guided tour. It starts before the official opening which means you get to see most of the rooms without lots of other visitors. The home is beautiful and quirky, as you'd expect from a family full of artists and art lovers. The grounds (we paid a small fee to be driven around) were so beautiful. Both guides were full of great information about the house/gardens and the family who developed it.
They were just starting with the Christmas decorations when we were there at the beginning of December so hopefully next time we're in Fort Lauderdale we'll be able to see it fully decorated as I'm guessing it's amazing. Though I'm kinda glad we got to see it in it's more natural state for our first visit.

We chose this resort because it offered pickleball and we were not disappointed! Other amenities that were really nice included the pools, beach, pool bar and boutique. A few things that we weren’t prepared for: you cannot walk anywhere from this resort. There’s ocean on one side and a residential neighborhood on the other. We hadn’t rented a car, expecting to be able to stroll to shops and restaurants, but that was our bad. We had one breakfast and one dinner in the main restaurant and I’d recommend going elsewhere for meals (but def eat at the pool bar because that’s where the good food is). This is not a hotel where you enter a lobby and take an elevator up to your floor. It has a motel feel in that the corridors are outside. Room was huge, bed was comfortable, decor a bit old fashioned.

A nice little oasis in the middle of urban Fort Lauderdale. The 1 mile round trip kayak paddle on Long Lake is quiet and pleasant. Thankful for Mr. Taylor-Birch's foresight to preserve this small area.

My wife and I arrived around 10:30am. This during our walking along the Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale. We were greeted right away by the lady working the front desk. She gave us some info about the museum and grounds. We took advantage of the senior discount to save a couple of dollars. She started us off with a short history film about the building, and the history of Fort Lauderdale. There was a lot of great information in that short film. We then toured the 2 story house. Not too much time is needed to go through the 2 floors, but we did find it very interesting. We then walked around the rest of the grounds. We were unable to sign up for a later guided tour of the grounds, but I think that would have been fun.. we had a wonderful visit.

This is a scenic and calm area to walk around or take photos. It is also nice for enjoying meals, the bar scene, and just spending time with loved ones.

This very long waterway separates the barrier islands and built-up coastal developments from the main part of the state. It often appears like a canal and provides its own water views. A heaven for those with pleasure boats.

Our friend was showing us all of the beach choices, and we were happy that this one is indeed a park. Lots of sand, lots of opportunity to splash in the surf, and we saw a lot of happy people taking advantage of the sun and fun.

I have lived in Broward County for 50.5 years and never took the time to visit Stranahan House. Do not make the same mistake! It is a foundational piece of the history of our county. It is also a beautiful building ! The employee and volunteers we encountered on our visit were super nice and informational. We visited right after Christmas, so the house was still decorated for Christmas. The audio tour was informational about the house, history of the area and the founding family. The location right in the New River is beautiful, so take the time to sit on the upstairs porch and enjoy the view. Don’t delay your visit, whether South Florida resident or visitor!

Port Everglades has many terminals for the cruise ships. It gets very business so if you do take a cruise out of here, you need to pay attention and keep an eye out as to the terminal number and cruise line you're going on. Terminal 26 is predominantly used by Holland America Line.

The indoor seating area for Terminal 26 is great. It's newer, kept up and is easy to access. Plenty of seating and cruise boarding is easy to do.
The port waters were engineered just right so that many ships could be docked at the same time. it was fun watching the ships leave thru the huge wake area.
