- tweetybird123Brookfield, CT52 contributionsVery impressed ! What a wonderful exhibit, brings you back in time with all the wonderful statues ! Perfect size exhibit on the grounds of Norwich Free Academy with beautiful architecture. Nice little gift shop . Personnel who we talked with were very nice and when we told them this was our first visit without hesitation they shared some of the history behind this gem and personally showed us how to get to the exhibit. We timed it right and lunch hour for the students was just ending. They were all outside enjoying the beautiful Fall day.Written 19 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The staff were quite friendly and knowledgeable. The individual who did our tour took over from an experience guide and commented. This was her first tour. She did a excellent job. The home is full of interesting artifacts from the period as well as after the 17th and 18th century. Anybody interested in history from this time. And specifically if Norwich should be sure to visit this property.Written 6 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jaclyn_2013Groton, CT4 contributionsHad my husband’s 40th birthday party here. The place is so cool and there’s lots to do. I love that they have several games you can play as a group, including board games, and several drinks to choose from which were great. Everything was wonderful and the staff was so nice. We will definitely go back again.Written 4 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Vicki Sugar Hill GASugar Hill, GA210 contributionsOur family decided to spend the 4th of July here. We arrived when the ballpark opened and had no problems getting a great parking space, with an easy walk to the gate. This is really a nice ballpark and very family oriented. When we passed through the gate they were giving out free apple pie to celebrate the 4th.
We walked around the stadium and then found our seats. We were seated right behind home plate. We did purchase our tickets online a few days before. We were so up close with all that was going on. The granddaughters were hoping to catch a foul ball, but with the nets none came our way. After watching where a few of the fouls were going, we all decided that up higher on the 1st base side was where most of the balls went. There were several balls caught by those in the stands, but we weren't so lucky. Maybe next time girls!
This ballpark has all you need to enjoy the game, from food, beer and a nice gift shop. We happened to be here on a Thursday for "Thirsty Thursday", beer only $2, cheaper than water and sodas!
Following the game we sat back and enjoyed the fireworks for the 4th. This was a show that did not disappoint. So glad we decided to spend our 4th here. The stadium was packed, so we were anticipating a long wait in leaving the stadium, but to our surprise they have the exit set up very well and easy exiting. I know we have waited at other stadiums trying to exit on a main highway and it is terrible. This was a piece of cake. Thanks for an enjoyable evening.Written 31 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - dustythoughtsManchester, CT2,128 contributionsThis hidden gem of a park is well worth a visit, particularly as it receives a lot less traffic than some of the larger nearby attractions. It's a surprisingly large park with plenty to do, including a rose garden, jogging trails, fishing, swimming, and playgrounds for kids. The roads are a bit twisty, but are well-marked with signs and arrows. We hung out by a large pond with a trail running around it, with a socializing center on one shore. The rose garden has a tiny parking lot next to it, but there's plenty of parking within the park. We didn't manage to see everything on the first visit, but we'll be back again. This park wasn't crowded, which was nice.Written 12 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- FlossEm77Canterbury, CT383 contributionsThis small, local theater has a very diverse selection of productions; from jazz to music from every genre to plays. We have enjoyed several evenings there and look forward to our next visit. It's fun and it's local! Great.Written 21 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- sandy cruNorwich, CT5 contributionsA great library with a wide range of resources. Resources range from children to adult books, magazines, and computers. There is also volunteer opportunities for students during the summer. Conference rooms can also be used to have a private or silent study hall for yourself. It is a great place to hang out with your friends and is relatively quiet for the most part. The librarians are very nice and approachable so never be afraid to ask any questions.Written 17 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jetmec40Norwich, CT49 contributionsNice little place. Nothing over the top but simple, nice and friendly. Always a new artist when I go there. When coupled to the other sites nearby on first Friday it very nice. Modest but the artist who display there are always pleasant and answer any questions you may have. I try to go whenever I am around for first Friday.Written 7 May 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- HotelsnobbBoston, MA923 contributionsStayed for 3 nights for a girls' getaway. Everything was simply perfect! Rooms were freshly renovated and spacious. Double has more than enough room for 2 people sharing...a large closet, refrigerator, and separate bathroom area. Beds were dreamy and unbelievably comfortable topped with cushy pillows and crisp linens. I never wanted to get out of that bed!
Service was 5 star throughout the property, from check in, to spa services, to dining outlets. Both Kensington's Restaurant and Ascot Pub had tasty food and great service. Outstanding drink menu in both places.
The spa was very nice...sparkling clean, and had nice amenities like a relaxation room, lounge with tea, elixirs, and fruit. There was also another sitting area with fireplace and juice bar. You could easily spend the day between the hot tub, steam room, indoor pool, and all the lounging areas. My massage and facial were outstanding! Treatment rooms were warm and welcoming and the massage table was one of the most comfortable I've ever had. Tyson gave an incredible massage and the service included warm towels and warm eye mask (which isn't included at many places).
We had such a nice time and enjoyed trivia night in the pub on Wednesday night and acoustic music there on Thursday night. If you don't want to stay on property, there is a shuttle to Mohegan Sun Casino also. We'll definitely be back!Written 9 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was a little tricky finding parking as I'm not familiar with Norwich. I called the theater and the manager talked me through the directions to the parking lot across the street from the theater. Very helpful.Written 15 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
