Excellent visitor centre and Museum for which you will need to spend at least 30 minutes. There is then an easy paved path up to the Escalante Pueblo ruins and a view of the of the reservoir and surrounding area.

The path has boards with information on the various plants that were important to the Pueblo people. Lots of chipmunks around and we spotted what I think was a Texan Brown Tarantula - don’t go off trail in sandals!

A nice 16 mile paved drive from Dolores, CO you come upon the Reservoir in the narrows and it widens out into a beautiful boat worthy lake with plenty of RV & campsites monitored by a Park host at the entrance. Bathroom facilities available for guests & plenty of temporary parking & a boat launch with rig parking. Many guests were there & enjoying the Summer breezes, fishing & boating.

A complete and accurate history of the Galloping Goose train & railroad routes through Southern Colorado from the early mining days in the 1800's to present. An excellent chance to ride the train too, once the COVID19 political campaign ends.

8 miles one way on a fairly good gravel road leads you to the only geyser in Colorado. It is a pretty easy hike considering the elevation. We hiked on a sunny late September morning and the colors on the drive and the hike were breathtaking. Once we were done we continued on that dirt road for maybe another 12 miles on our way to Telluride. The road got a little rougher towards the end but my car did just fine...For reference the roads were completely dry when we traveled them.

I like to use libraries when I travel to find out information about local events which might ordinarily escape my notice. The staff here were very helpful. Place was airy and clean. A perfect spot to rest and read next to the river.

Fresh oven pizza and terrific beer make this a great stop in the area. Very nice inside and outside in the Hop Garden. Can't go wrong with this place, we come back whenever we are in the area.
