We stopped in while fishing. Grabbed some refreshments. They rent boats and jet skis. Will be back to take advantage of their great customer service

Really neat to walk around, lots of history. Some are so old, with just wooden crosses. The kids enjoyed reading all of the stones and the view of the river down below was amazing.

This trail is short but has a fantastic view once you reach the top. Right across the street from Boulder Gulch Campground, this trail is mainly used by the people camping there.

Lake Isabella is a beautiful lake in Wofford Heights, a little town an hour north of Bakersfield. It's being fed by the mighty Kern River. We were there in June 2019 when the water was high. There is no fee to access the lake and there are beaches which are good spot for swimming during our stay. The only thing I didn't like is the drive from Bakersfield through the canyon. The canyon is narrow and winding so it's a slow drive but the drivers are rude and will honk at you if you're too slow for them. There are lots of turn-outs but some can't even wait till you get there to let them pass.

Good place to get away for 2 or 3 hours of medium skiing. Fantastic for beginners or just sitting outside for your kids or grandkids to enjoy the afternooo.

If you're in the hood it's decent park for kids to spend some time or to run your pooch on some grass.

Had a blast. Matt, Skip, Oggie and the rest of the team made it a memorable trip.
We will all be back for the 2 day trip next year.
Do yourself a favor and get the hot sauce. It’s fantastic.

When we come to Kernville we try and come to see a movie here at the Reel Cinema. It’s a small nice clean theater run by one person who sales tickets runs the concession stand and runs the movies. We’ve never had a problem with rowdy kids. They have really upgraded the place but the only thing I would complain about is the seat backs are short and gives us a neck ache. The next time I’ll sit on back row to rest my head.

The Hideaway has been here for a long time. Its a cool little bar tucked into the mountainside in Wofford Heights. If youre camping in the area its a good place to have a drink and cool down. Locals like to hang out here and are friendly. Great bar for anyone!
