- Sarah GHarrogate, UK1,488 contributionsProbably the best place we visited in Silicon Valley in terms of things to look at, and free. We did a self guided drive with commentary, which was a great way to see the area, and this was one of the stops.Written 7 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Stephanie ASeattle, WA15 contributionsIf you have tickets to a game, the price should be included in your tickets to see this place, or at least discounted. It was very interesting for the 49er fan in my husband. It ends in you going into the store which thankfully he found nothing he couldn't buy on line for less, pretty pricy items.Written 7 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ZackUribeSanta Clara, CA55 contributionsThis library has a decent resident selection and since they are tied to the rest of the Santa Clara city library service AND NOW, the Link+ group, it is much easier to get access to harder to find books.Written 17 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dawn G.5 contributionsThis art museum is free and open to the public. There are indoor exhibits and an outdoors bronze statuary garden. I love that the exhibits change so each time I travel here I always have new things to see. Brought my grandkids (14 and 17) and both enjoyed it.Written 21 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Marta EEl Paso, TX857 contributionsSo I walked here in about 10 minutes! It is only open Tuesday nights and Saturday. It was nice to see that there are still alot of older history buffs that get a kick out of building toy trains and constructing a miniature city/country. I recognized the era from the late 50s or 60s cuz that is when I was born..Ed and the other older men volunteers knew their area train and railroad history very well..They also confirmed what I already knew that it is getting harder and harder to find toy trains. I also observed that they are very passionate about their museum and it shows!
There is a small library with books and magazines about trains, but I was informed that I could NOT check out any books since I am NOT a member of the museum. However the older gentleman said I was welcome to read any material in the comfortable chair. He also went out of his way to tell me a little bit of history of the building! HE stated that the museum is a combination of 2 buildings and the part where the library and bathrooms are is older than the museum area
I was glad that there was a coke machine in this little gem cuz it was humid.I also left a donation since these men take such a great effort to keep this little museum gem open. After my visit, I went outside to take the Caltrain to downtown San Jose!Written 15 July 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The place has a nice relaxed atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. There was a nice mix of beers available and it wasn't overly crowded when we were there. I enjoyed the two IPAs I tried and my wife liked the fruit beers they had as well.Written 30 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sam R2 contributionsGreat experience! Benji was kind, patient, and explained all games to us. He also gave good advice to help us pick the right game (for us.) Fun for all ages - I went with my sister and mother. Also would be fun for work and/or team building activities. Would definitely come back!Written 7 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- chuckster175 contributionsA beautiful little building on an attractive campus with a nearby car park. Not a lot of art inside but one of the current exhibits (the InTouch Project) featured a vast collection of felt sculptures that visitors were encouraged to touch, to play with and to re-arrange. Another gallery exhibited antiques and historical maps and items that told the story of the indigenous peoples of the area. Both exhibits were quite fascinating and well worth seeing.Written 19 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
