I have been here many times in the past from Tucson, AZ. This trip I was pleasantly surprised that the actual street and csurrounding area were clean and seemed safe. The vendor stands were nicely stocked and I made sure to visit the taquito stand at the end across from Union Station. My grandmother first took me there as a child and I have taken my daughter and granddaughter as well as others. It is a local icon. We visited the old homesite and purchased some items. There was some music and the weather was sunny and cool. There is a public parking lot across the street.
This market place has some great history that we learned about on our walking tour. There are plenty of stalls that will give you pretty much anything I think you might want for a meal. It is a cool place for a quick walkthrough as you decide what you want for lunch. I would recommend this as a great quick bite to eat place while you are walking around downtown LA.
We went to look around after a visit to USC. It’s a fun market that reminds me of Mexican markets in that you can find anything, including food inside. The best products by far are women’s formal dresses. Negotiate the price of absolutely everything beforehand, a guy tried to charge me $20 for two small cups of watermelon. Don’t expect that much of a deal on anything, I found all prices to be very high for the quality. Honestly I wouldn’t go back to the area because I feel I can find everything this market offers in a better atmosphere for the same price, maybe even less
This flea occurs twice on December..so get your small local made goodies..but more so..check out the entire community. Hip, trendy, foodie delights abound..it's the best that LA has to offer..
I love manic pixie dream market so much!!!! Regardless of what city you visit, you will have the best time ever! They pick the best, loving people to vend and it shows!
I don't know what to say about it!!! That's the one, we love it. Good prices, lovely items! We brought many items linked to celebrities and outfits as well!
A lot on offer, yummy gourmet food trucks, Italian ices si my kids were happy, everything from crystals to trees, from furniture, toys, clothes, jewelry
My Grandfather and my Father both operated one of the Produce areas in this Downtown Los Angeles location. (7th & Central). If you want the best, freshest Produce in L.A., this is the place. They open about 4am, and close by noon, fyi....
This was our first stop on our LA holiday and we loved it! Not so much for the stalls but more for the people watching.Being tourists,we enjoyed watching cool locals shopping for vintage etc. Most stall holders were friendly and we appreciated the live music in the food court.
