What travellers are saying
- Caroline K10 contributionsBeautiful white sandy beach for family. Not deep, not dangerous for kids. Warm and quiet. But a little dirty. There are not enough trashes or people don’t know how to use it… Each time, I used to clean the beach before enjoying with kids.Written 16 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Peter R6 contributionsBeautiful and still relative quiet island. We stayed at La Passion with the nice swimmingpool. Good restaurants with food for reasonable prices. Easy to go by boat from the awfull Sihanoukville. The staff in hotel and restaurants are all friendly.Written 10 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Anton51 contributionsGood atmosphere and beautiful outdoor space to do photography. Water could be dried out when hot season.Written 28 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- LizzyLeetonLeeton, Australia721 contributionsThis was good without being great but there is a nice walk to a pier which you can do. Plenty of Cambodian operated restaurants and bars and we had a quiet beer in one place after our visit. Not too much to see or do but worth taking a look.Written 25 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Giuseppe CincindellaRosyth, UK2,321 contributionsWe went by tuc tuc, the market is big, full of little shops selling everything: food, clothing, accessories, barbers... any kind of food or vegetables, dried fish, fresh juices. All street food including fried spiders and insects. We didn't feel very safe there, watch your bag and don't wear jewelsWritten 28 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Love to travelDenver, CO213 contributionsI was so disappointed in Ream due to all the trash in the water, on the beaches, everywhere. It wasn’t jus plastic bag trash, but rather a variety of trash which made it seem like they had taken bags and bags of trash from town and just dumped it in the ocean. The ocean then ripped apart the bags of trash and deposited it in the mangrove roots, on the beaches, in the waves, etc. Sad and rather disgusting.Written 20 November 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Homerton Bee5 contributionsAs much as it is really valuable that some protection has been put into place against overdevelopment of this village, any expat or tourist who thinks they're integrated into village life here is not seeing things as they are, I'm sorry. You're being sold a dream of an easy island life, which doesn't exist. All the garbage on the shore/in the beautiful water and the locals (family members of all ages) working non stop just to get by and give you your "must do chill island vibe experience" was just part of the reality check for me.Written 7 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - lee aSheffield, UK719 contributionsWe was on a cruise , got a Tuk tuk outside the port for 5 hours and this was one of the stops. Cambodia being a poor country made the journey there very bumpy due to the terrible roads but an experience. This temple a bit worn but beautiful, lots of different parts to it so making it an interesting historical place with there own not so wild monkeys about.Written 24 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jalal IqbalDhaka City, Bangladesh1,469 contributionsvery bright and loud and colourful places with lots of food places live music at night and few activities just on the beach side. overall a festive like ambience. liked itWritten 1 February 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Terry HSeattle, WA758 contributionsWe stopped at the Wat Krom Temple and marveled at the beauty of the site. Initially you see isolated stupas (where the deceased are honored) and then you travel up the road to see other sites, including a great view of the city from above.
Sihanoukville is an amalgam of contrasts (from dusty city streets to the calm of different temples) - don't be put off by the city streets and all the dirt. This is a city in transition and it will be interesting to see it in 2 - 3 years. The people seem particularly industrious and energetic.Written 9 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The lighthouse itself is pretty run down and be aware there are not stairs, but 6 or 7 steep iron ladders to climb up to each level. Not suitable for children or anyone with mobility issues. But the views from the top are amazing - totally worth the rickety climb!Written 25 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
