- btga91812Los Angeles, CA38 contributionsJust looking for something culturally interesting to do and came upon this museum. Found it to be an informative museum, easy to navigate through.Written 12 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ray SBrea, CA1,122 contributionsI had visited this museum about 30 years ago and looked forward to this visit. I recall it was very dark inside with hard to see exhibits and items. I took a small flashlight. (Cell phone light would get suspicious). It was OK, but not great. The place is still dimly lit with some wall hangings not lit at all. Also it says ADA friendly on the first floor, but only the main pathways. There are alcoves with interesting item that are not accessible. Its worth the visit for the oddities but you will leave wishing you could have seen the displays better. Parking is a problem. Sidewalks are not ADA friendly.Written 11 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Frank PEugene, OR1,216 contributionsWhat a great find. The view is fantastic. Its only 500 feet above city but you can see all of LA and its cooler up there on a hot day. Pay parking lot at the top of hill. Drive up with caution as many walkers, bikes and even boarders. Worth the time.Written 15 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- elizabethlascheidLos Angeles, CA4,755 contributionsIf you are in Los Angeles you must put The Actor's Gang Theater on your must do list. The Actor's Gang puts on the best shows and all at a reasonable price. Tim Robbins is on the Board of Directors and even directs and acts in some of the performances.
They have a large range of shows there, from serious drama, comedy and other things. We were lucky enough to see "Shambles." It was a sort of holiday free for all and some of the best acting and performing I have ever seen. It has a loose story, but you will not care. You see, a cat named Musk comes to take over the earth and all the planets and have people perform for him. Maybe it is a dream, but we don't care. There are songs, tap dancing, a great band, amazing singers and performers, there are acrobats and jugglers and it had special guests every night. It was simply amazing.
The staff is so kind and sweet, all performers I think and this night there was even free pizza and meet the characters after the show. My grandson is on the Spectrum and very shy. This is the first after party he has ever agreed to attend. That is not my great skills, but that of the staff and performers, who could see right away he was different and approached carefully, as if they had been trained. By the end of the party he was talking to people, giving hugs and telling them how much he loved the show. He just does not do this, but he did this night. He was so happy.
The theater is build in an old sub station for trains we had in LA for years, before I was born and I am old. It was going to be torn down, but it was saved. The Actor's Gang redid all of it and it looks like it did in its hay day. It also has a big park right outside.
It is a small theater and there is not a bad seat in the house. The seat rows are not flat but each up a stair so no one has to worry about the women with the wrong hat on or someone taller than anyone you have ever seen.
This is a not for profit and they make sure all can come.
I love this place and will be back again and again.Written 31 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A tour guide helps you explore and learn about the animals.
The offer tours and camps during school breaks. We all learned about our animal friends.Written 16 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ibaolLos Angeles, CA546 contributionsMy parents are buried here so I've visited and attended services many times. The chapels are of different sizes and well maintained as are the burial grounds The large chapel is beautiful and should not be missed. There is also a flower shop so you can purchase flowers to put on your loved ones grave.Written 2 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Cindy BCulver City, CA14 contributionsMy husband and I use the walking path down Culver Boulevard on a regular basis. We usually go early evening and enjoy it very much. Not a lot of traffic at that time so we can walk briskly without interference. Nice atmosphere. Lots of greenery and plants and trees.Written 19 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- KG OLos Angeles, CA152 contributionsWe enjoy this park as a family. There is equipment for both toddlers and older children; space to picnic; ride bikes; and grass fields. My only complaint is the wood chips which make wearing sandals challenging.Written 1 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - traveltime111San Diego, CA2,149 contributionsThe gallery owner and assistant were very rude, aloof and brusque.
They ignored me when I walked in(nobody else was there). When I asked questions; they also acted like they couldn't be bothered. The Gallery is also poorly designed and setup. It just feels like being in a small warehouse/storage room with no energy and personality. It could also use some seats for customers.
On the plus side, I was very impressed with the quality/creativity of the paintings/artists. The works are very well done and well painted.
Prices are also reasonable.
So atmosphere/staff gets 2 stars and paintings 5 for a 3 star result.Written 27 February 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
