From the get go, Deki’s responsiveness on WhatsApp put my mind at ease. I felt I would be in good hands in Bhutan and didn’t need to shop around for other tour operators. She was extremely patient and even knew the answers to my sometimes specific questions. The SDF was revised by the government midway through planning and Bhutan Best Inbound proactively alerted me to refund the fare difference, a much appreciated gesture.
My guide Namgay was respectful yet knowledgeable. He would take the initiative to carry the water and bags on the trek, open and close the car door for you softly. Not that I needed this extra help, but I felt so well taken care of every step of the way. Not to mention he rescued me multiple times in the slippery mud. Namgay is also a very patient photographer and always asked about and fulfil your preferences.
The driver LT is actually a guide as well. I was lucky to have 2 guides! He was always patient, especially when I went off itinerary multiple times. After pit stops, LT always made the extra effort to drive the car closest to you. He was aware of my fondness for birds and alerted me when he spotted the Satyr Tragopan on the side of the highway. This was one of the many memorable highlights throughout the trip.
I can’t believe I was teary-eyed when I bid Namgay and LT farewell at the airport. It is the people who make Bhutan a magical place.
