What travellers are saying
- BookshelfishThe Woodlands, TX186 contributionsThis 1 hour tour of the cave system was extraordinary. I expected to be totally underwhelmed by a dark, gloomy, humid, smelly, hole in the ground. Instead, I was dazzled by a gloriously illuminated cathedral-like space that was enthralling. The lighting in the caves was done by a gentleman who illuminated the opera houses of Europe. It was cool and comfortable. I’m a sinus sufferer and had zero problems. An easy walk suitable for any age. Bleacher seating is available twice during the tour. Our tour guides were both knowledgeable and entertaining. The ticket office and gift shop are quite nice. The staff is delightful. I highly recommend this tour.Written 25 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Michael V15 contributionsWe stayed here for two days with an 18 and 15 year old. The way the room was arranged made us so comfortable. The rooms have obviously had a recent makeover. So clean and bright and pleasant. It was really peaceful and a great place to hike or just sit and read. I want to come back during the festival and see it in full swing. We really had the best time and it was a tremendous value.Written 15 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KateSHot Springs, Arkansas, United States4,862 contributionsInteresting history; pleasant stop on the trail along Mirror Lake. Not much to it, so it doesn't require an investment of much time. If you're already in the area for the spring, cavern, or day-use area, stop by for a quick photo & history lesson.Written 9 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lori S1 contributionMusic was awesome. It was like stepping back to a better time. Everyone just threw blankets or grabbed the lawn chairs visited & listened to live music. - arkansawtravellerMountain View, AR104 contributionsBrickshy has retired after many successful years of entertaining folks with his Ozark music and comedy. The building has since been sold and remodeled inside and out to accommodate it's new owner--a funeral home.Written 6 July 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Beverly NLittle Rock, AR235 contributionsI drove my 89 years young mom around the trail looking at the quilts. So grateful that folks are doing this. Gave us a chance to spend quality time together while seeing parts of Stone county that we’d never been to.Written 1 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ZaidtreeArkansas195 contributionsSomeone had recommend the short hike to White River Bluff. The view was beautiful. The hike was good. But beware I came back covered in seed ticks. I didn't use enough bug spray. But the view at the top of the bluff was very picturesque.Written 11 September 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dr_XaosPalatine, IL1,182 contributionsLocated near the VFW, this Peace Pole is not clearly marked and fairly easy to overlook/miss (i.e., we had to backtrack while looking for it). The pole surrounding area are in a small field across from a parking lot. Early spring at time of our visit, but the grass area around the pole didn't appear to be mowed or maintained.
The Peace Pole itself is very well done and has an interesting personalized twist to who it represents and why. Not sure I would go out of my way to drive miles to see it, but the pole was worth the effort to visit and view while we were passing through Mountain View for other activities.Written 28 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
