- Mark MSaint-Adolphe-d'Howard, Canada3 contributionsWe enjoyed this hike. Great views and not to hard. Nice views. Go whether cloudy or sunny, weather changes so fast.Written 20 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - StevenSueNew York City, NY158 contributionsIn our 3 weeks hiking around Chilean Patagonia the Los Piedras hike to the top of Cerro Cinchao was our favorite hike.
We started at the parking lot for Mirador Laguna Verde (you can drive there--you need to stop and pay admission to the park). From the Laguna Verde parking lot the trail was well marked. Follow the Los Piedras sign when you come to it about half a mile in to the hike. The trail ascends about 2,000 feet. There are several different and interesting forests you pass through on the way up. And there are ocassional views across the valley. But the real payoff comes when you get to the top. The summit is above the treeline, and presents 360 degree views of the surrounding mountains. Spectacular.
It took four fit 60 year olds a bit less than 3 hours to get to the top. Much less to get down. And we lingered at the top for most of an hour. We did not do the full loop. We got to the top of the mountain and then descended back the way we came. That looked shorter than completing the loop. And we had already gotten the best views of the trail.Written 26 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Although several times a year they offer natural healing, regenerative farming classes and workshops, their main focus now is regenerative farming, selling beef and lamb to (LUCKY!) local and nation-wide customers. Oh my goodness! once you taste the meat that they offer, you will never go back to regular store-bought Super Vacuna.Written 28 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The Visitor Center at the Reserve is very nice and well done. We had an excellent guide that provided us with additional information in the Visitor Center. We then took a short walk along the water to see the waterfalls. Our guide also provided information on some of the flora and fauna that we passed as we walked along to the water. I would recommend coming here.Written 25 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

Crossed by trails, rocky Cerro McKay looms over the city. The craft market in the main square sells ceramics and wool items. On the outskirts is trout-filled Simpson River.
We very much enjoyed this plaza. It was a great place to get souvenirs of the regionWritten 5 April 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The lakes and Simson river are always on the road side. there is a water fall that in Spring carry a decent amount of water. In summer you can stop and have a picnic by the river or the lakes.Written 16 October 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Peter RMaroochydore, Australia2,384 contributionson the way to and from Coyhaique you pass this area and the views are yet again spectacular and the camera gets hot from the action. The only reason for the visit was that the bus went this way.Written 25 February 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - EclecticprofIndiana21 contributionsIt is not something I would go out of the way to contemplate, but it is a nice centerpiece of the town. If you are in town, stop and ponder, contemplate the history and culture of this wild and beautiful culture.Written 2 February 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LowieSantiago_ChileSantiago, Chile142 contributionsWe had a wonderful stay on our recent trip to Northern Patagonia. Service is excellent and friendly personnel. The all you can eat "asado" is a must.
Hopefully corona will be over soon so we can make our own choice from the buffet.Written 1 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
