There have been mixed reviews of Marari beach. For a real traveller who appreciates observing the life of the locals it’s great! Yeah it’s not paradise, it’s just a beach. It’s not perfectly clean. There’s some rubbish floating about at the busier end but it has a good vibe with nice places to eat or grab a drink whilst being by the sea or curling up on a sun lounger with a book. Fab place to go to in the early hours of the morning to see the local fishermen bring in their catch and watch the crabs scurry along the sand dipping in and out of the water. Lots of stray dogs but not a problem if you don’t mind dogs! The crows are a pest but you just shoo them away. I really enjoyed my stay here and the beach. Really chilled. Pretty quiet with few tourists which I prefer! Don’t expect luxury. Just appreciate it for what it is. Real India.

I highly recommend Marari Nest Homestay nearby. It was the best Homestay I stayed in during the 5 weeks I was in India! Really clean, comfortable, gorgeous garden, five star hospitality and only a 4 minute walk to the beach.

One of the cleanest beach in alleppey. Stay at the beach side and enjoy the sun. The harbour is little faraway from the place but you can always walk up there or hire a auto 🛺 to reach there. Enjoy the sunset and nature. If you like fishes, you can plan to buy from the fishermen. I would not recommend to stay there after dark.

The temple is very beautifully structured and is surrounded by "Diyaas" which gives their light to temple.

A huge grey head of Shiva dominates one entrance, the others are hung with coloured bunting; it has a deep sandy courtyard, a small caged Nandi, weighing scales, donation boxes, oil lamps and an inner shrine behind golden doors - quiet, mystical and unassuming.

On February 16 and 17, I was massaged by a young boy of 21 years old. despite his young age he was very professional and particularly attentive. These two massages gave me a lot of well-being. Other massages at Marari beach have not been as beneficial.
in February 2024 I return to India from France with my wife and I we will stay two weeks at Marari Beach. I will of course come back without hesitation for massages, hoping that this young masseur will always be there...
at marari beach don't look elsewhere, Amma is the right place for an ayurvedic massage "abianga"

Today I had a Kalari massage as the first day of a three day treatment program designed around my body’s needs. My husband is also visiting the spa, having different treatments specifically designed for his body’s needs.
The treatments are excellent. I feel refreshed and invigorated.
The Spa Center is very clean and the staff very professional. This is not like a typical US day spa, Prana are very serious in their approach to healing and rejuvenating the body.
I look forward to returning tomorrow for part two of my treatment program.
If you’re headed to Mararikulum this is a must do experience.

This was the best massage I have ever had. Yes the facilities are basic but it’s clean. The lady took such great care of me - it really felt like she was nurturing me from scalp to littlest toe. Complete exfoliation moisturiser and massage in one - with herbal pummelling to boot. I felt totally refreshed and revitalised.

It is not for the prudish - they offered a nappy style cover but it came loose. It was easier to brave it and bare all in the end. The showering facilities are basic but it worked.
