Our tour guide made sure everything was perfect and left nothing to be desired. He provided us with fascinating information throughout the trip and ensured that all transportation was smooth and well-organized.
The coffee tour was another highlight. The people there put in so much effort, and you can truly feel their passion for coffee cultivation. The coffee itself was outstanding – an absolute delight!

- Ilenia30 contributionsI did the 8 days Lemosho Route with Kilimanjaro Heroes. It was an incredible week. I wanted to join a group but at the end i was on my own, first I felt worried about that but now I know, probably it was even better! Because I was on my own I had the opportunity to get to know the local people working on the mountain. My guide Gewa was very friendly and kind, I felt very safe with him. Also the rest of the team: Leonard, Martin, Abdul, Peter and Ezekiel were very welcoming and helpful! Our chef Kosmas cooked the best food I've eaten during one month in Tanzania.
It was not just a great hike with amazing landscapes and a huge variety of plants and animals (my guide new a lot about). It was not just about reaching Uhuru Peak, which was a very special moment. My experience was way more than that! I got to know their culture and the way they live.
I have learned so much from the locals (guides and porters) and I truly appreciated these people, so kind, positive and humil.
I felt like part of their family, they were calling me Dada (sister).

First, I had a great group of friends to travel with (4 in our group), all with different levels of hiking experience. We started with two in our private group and added two later. Our agent, Maria, was responsive and patient with our millions of questions about the many details of the trip. Don't be afraid to ask your questions at any point of the process.
The logistics on the ground were well organized, from the airport pickup to the Aishi-Machame hotel processes of check-in, equipment rental and weighing, and meeting with our guides. I liked the hotel staff's strict verification system of items stored in their safe while on the mountain (passport, cash, etc.). I can't say enough good things about Jafari and Lihiro, our guides. They were knowledgeable, professional, kind and supportive. We felt informed and safe at every step knowing they had checked our equipment and our health to ensure we were well-prepared for the day's activities. I was very impressed with the entire porter team, from our chef, Laurence, to our potty porter, Adiel. The toilet amenity greatly contributed to the success and comfort of our trip - highly recommended!. We were fed tasty, large meals to keep up our energy and Isaac fed us drinks and snacks at his pop-up trailside cafe. I recommend you pack your own non-meltable snacks in case you needs something mid-trail or mid-safari. The porters were all very professional and helpful at every point. I never heard any angry arguments, swearing or complaining - amazing for a group of men with the many heavy responsibilities they had. It was difficult to say good-bye to our guides and porters - we definitely left a piece of our hearts with them on the mountain.
We also did a four-day safari adventure with Altezza to recover from our hike (reviewed separately). It was so nice to have their expertise to manage the seamless transition from the hiking to the safari.

This entire trip was out of this world - I cannot recommend Altezza enough! I wish they provided other trips across the globe as I would use them again in a heartbeat.
Our Kili climb was absolutely amazing, we had the most incredible time and the whole Altezza team was phenomenal, start to finish. The level of service and attention to detail provided was perfection. Our guides were fantastic and acted superhuman on the final summit night, getting us all to the roof of Africa!
We found most days relatively easy, with the majority of the group being mostly unaffected by the altitude. Our guides were constantly checking up on us throughout the day and more formally during morning and evening medical checks. If any minor ailments arose they would respond very swiftly and with greta knowledge. The whole camping experience felt more like 'glamping' to us: with camps being set up every day before arrival; large, varied meals prepared morning and evening; and clean, fresh water always provided. Little comforts like evening hot water bottles and morning wake up coffee/tea were lovely little touches.
The whole trekking team was incredible, friendly, polite, informative, and adaptable. They definitely felt the vibe of the group and adjusted accordingly, ensuring that our trip exceeded expectations. I do not want to spoil too many of the little things and surprises that the team did to help us to the top but we were constantly taken aback by their capabilities and generosity throughout the trip!
Summit night was the only challenging day (night) for us but our guides took great care of us and their professionalism and ability to climb, seemingly unaffected by the altitude, ensured that they were fully focused on us and helped us all attain our goal of reaching the roof of Africa!
The 2 day safari was also fantastic, our only regret is that we did not do a couple more days. I would definitely come back for a 4/5 day trip. Our safari vehicles were luxurious - fridge, cold drinks, open top, comfy seats, charging points, wifi. Our guides were incredibly knowledgable and quickly learned the types of animals that made us most excited and would then go out of their way to find more of these certain species! Our accommodation each night was beautiful!
Regular updates from our Altezza rep ensured we knew the plan each day (time to have breakfast, pick up times from guides and transfers) .
It is rare that you partake in a holiday that you believe should be worth a lot more than what you paid, but this is one of those times. Every member of our group would have happily paid more for the level of service we received the entire trip. Our guides included Victor, Thomas, Noah, Gabriel, Samson and our servers included Jackson and his crew. We were very well looked after and I know I speak for my fellow climbers when I say these gentlemen made our trek all the more manageable and enjoyable. We did the Marangu Route. Get comfortable as this is a long and detailed review of this exceptional company and their people.
First let me start with Geoffrey who is the director of the company. His ability to answer all my questions and queries via what's app made it so easy for me to choose Burigi chato safaris for all of my needs in Tanzania. Given there was an 8hr time difference between us I was even more impressed with his response rate. Everything was organised seamlessly from the moment I arrived. I was met by my driver and taken to my comfortable lodge in Mosh. I was met by my guide Amin for Mt Kilimanjaro climb. He provided me with a brief outline of the next days activities and went through an equipment check to ensure we only took what we needed for the 7 day trek. Next day I was introduced to the rest of the support team. As other hikers scheduled on this trip postponed their climb to another date, I had the support crew all to myself. There were 7 in total, I would like to say at this stage these guys are exceptional at what they do. It never ceases to amaze me how effortlessly they make it look. Carrying over 20kgs each up and down the mountain they always had our camp and tents all set up long before we even arrived. There was always a hot drink and meal ready whenever you arrived. At this point I would like to add that Wilson and his assistant cook winner are culinary geniuses with what they able to whip up. Example of some foods like fish and chips, rice and beef stews, spaghetti Bolognese, pancakes, crepes etc just to mention a few. Felt bad as all the food looked great but I was not able to eat too much of it as lost my appetite due to altitude. This is where Weshack my waiter comes in. He really should consider a job in sales as he was excellent in convincing me to eat as much I could to keep my strength up. He did a bloody good job too. He will make a good future guide. Speaking of guides I was blessed with such a great one in Amin who has over a decade of knowledge helping climbers achieve their goals. Again an individual that is exceptional at what he does. Always felt safe and confident with his guidance. The rest of the team like Mike our summit porter, Isaiah the dishwasher and Fred our porter all of who made the journey that much better.
The safari was exceptionally organised with all meals and accommodation taken care of. Tarangire park and Ngorongoro crater where phenomenal.
The team at Burigi chato are definitely a company I would recommend for any of your adventures in Tanzania. Whether that be climbing the mountain or doing a multi day safari, these are the folks you need to speak to first. I can not speak of them highly enough. - remi d1 contributionWe, a group of 7 successfully summited Kilimanjaro UHURU Peak on February 23rd, 2025. The experience was nothing short of incredible as we hiked through the Lemosho Route over eight unforgettable days.
We chose Habari adventure group after lot of research and found great reviews about them in FB and we wanted to choose a local team. We believe that we could summit Kili only because of the support provided by Habari team. We got a breifing about the 8 days hike from Stan a day b4 our start. He had already built a good relationship with through whatsapp chats after we booked them.
We started our journey to the Lemosho route start gate on sunday morning with our leads and bunch of porters. we had lots of fun during the 2 hour drive and they were explaining about different trees, and areas we were crossing.
Our experiernce with each of the habari crew was exceptional. they treated us with utmost care and support. the wake us up in the morning with a hot tea or coffee (our choice), hot water for brushing and cleaning, yummy breakfast. by the time we were finishing the breakfast, our camelbaks were filled with water and bag, poles etc were kept outside ready for the day's hike. Every meal was made delicious and cosits of a soup, carb, protein , vegetables and fruits. snacks and tea was provided during the hike. though our hikes were strenous, but their company made it easy for us.
Summit day hike was the most challenging one as it was during the night, But habari team made it possible for us. they sang through out the hike to keep us awake and motivated us through out. I called them as hands of GOD . Great souls on earth.
