We had a great experience today with our guide Andrew! He is really nice, welcoming and answered to all our questions. The Materuni Village and Waterfall is amazing! The Arabic coffee experience was also great, and we bought a bag of coffee because we liked it a lot. The local lunch was really good.

The hot springs have been really cool! We took amazing photos there.

We had more than enough water and alcohol drinks (beer) during the day.

Thank you Andrew and Safari Soles!

I had very little time to explore the beauty of Mount Kilimanjaro, so a friend and I took the 1-day hike offered by Kilinge Adventures and it was perfect. This particular trip brings one up the mountain quite a distance by vehicle, which allows hiking closer to the summit in a single day than would otherwise be possible. The trip was simple to book, well-priced, and exceeded expectations. Thomas provided a hiking guide and a driver who were professional, supportive, and fun. A moderate fitness level is helpful, but booking this particular trip (rather than joining a larger group tour) allowed for flexibility of pace and customization of distance. The views along the hike were, of course, spectacular! I am grateful Kilinge Adventures offered me this opportunity.

It was my first Kilimanjaro climb and selected the 6 days Machame route within short notice. Godfrey confirmed and arranged the trip promptly, and he was responsive to my many questions. I was taken care of by the crew throughout the trip with great service, and Gabriel as my guide looked after my welfare. He even went out of his way to bring me around Moshi town after we successfully summited and returned! Great experience for my first trip to Tanzania.

This trip is guided by Charles from “Safari by Leo” (it’s a family owned safari and cultural tour based (small but beautiful) company owned by Leo and Charles). Our tour guide Charles is book of knowledge. He explained us the history, culture of different tribes in Tanzania especially Chagga tribe who predominantly live at the foothills of Kilimanjaro (by the way,Charles himself from Chagga tribe :)).

Actual tour is only Materuni water falls with coffe tour. But Charles loves his job so much and he wanted to give us more experience about Tanzania and he has additionally done guided tour and night life tour of Moshi town. I am quite convinced he is not doing this culture tour for money. It’s his passion to show Tanzania to tourists and explain its history to world! I highly recommend this tour and other cultural tours organised by Charles (Safari by Leo) to all tourists visiting Tanzania!

This tour is an unforgettable and awesome experience in my life! I wholeheartedly thank Charles and “Safari by Leo” for their passion and knowledge.

The tour was amazing! My guide John was very kind, friendly and great to spend the day with! He was knowledgeable and shared a load of information about the waterfalls, plants, fruits and all kind of aspects of the jungle surrounding Materuni Waterfall. I really enjoyed the coffee tour, the experience of cultivating and creating my own coffee with the group was something I'll never forget! Go coffee Boys 😅 The lunch and food amazing, the waterfall was epic and due to the rains during this time of year, it was going off! I got to meet the owner of Tarry, Peter and spent some time speaking to both John and Peter after the tour. Both are very amazing individuals 👏
This is definitely a tour company I suggest people to book with! Their kindness, knowledge, hospitality and overall enjoyment of their work speaks volumes. THANK YOU for making my time in Moshi so memorable!
The have a great little shop called Mama Africa Gift shop too - check it out if you get the chance!

Our trip to Kilimanjaro was 4 years in the making and Chiefs Tours supported us the entire time up until a difficult decision but there is summit in our future and I can’t wait to do it with chiefs!

4 years ago I watched a video about climbing Kili and decided it was something I wanted to do. I started reaching out to a few well reviewed companies and Chiefs tours was the most responsive and reasonably priced.

Our planning got interrupted by some surgeries and covid but the entire time adidas (owner/operator of chiefs) always was responsive and willing to adjust with our schedule.

We finally made it a reality this December. We were greeted at the airport after realizing one of our bags didn’t make it. Adidas took our lost baggage ticket and said this was his problem now. Ended up our bag went on to Zanzibar and adidas had it back at our lodge later that night!

The lodge we stayed at (kilele) was comfortable and perfect for before and after our climb. We were served wonderful food and drinks by cheerful and helpful staff.

That day, adidas and our guides met us at the lodge to discuss our climb and answer any of our final questions. They checked our gear to ensure we had what we would need to be successful.

The next morning the team took us to pick up some gear we were renting and to get the porters and head to the market to get the supplies we would need. We booked a 6 day lemosho route. Our fitness level is pretty high and we ski at altitude so felt this was a good fit for us.

Day 1 was hiked almost entirely in rain, given it was still part of the rainy season and we were in the rain forest zone. This wasn’t a surprise. A failure in our dry bag however caused my wife’s clothes and her sleeping bag to get wet.

Unfortunately even with the best effort of our guides and porters we weren’t able to get things dried out and after a night at Shira II where it was colder we made the difficult decision to turn back.

Our guides (Jackson and frank) and porters tried everything they could to allow us to continue on but ultimately supported our decision to hike back and made all the arrangements for us to do this.

The entire team works so hard to make sure you are taken care of and happy and they take such pride in their work. It is infectious.

Our meals prepared by Jeff were wonderful and mindful of the kind of food we needed for each day.

Every night our health was checked and we discussed what the next day would entail.

We are already discussing with chiefs coming back to finish what we started in 2024, so you can see how confident we are in this company and its dedicated employees.

I highly recommend chiefs for your kilininjaro climb!

The tour included a driver as guide, entrance tickets, a meal, and returning drive. It’s around 12:30-19:00 for me, according to my accommodation area. It took 1.5 h drive, and the guide is very helpful for finding some charging items I need on the road. And tell me everything that I need to know. Everything is well taken care of. It’s really nice.

We went during our stay in Tanzania on a cycling tour with Linus from Rau Eco & Cultural Tourisme. He showed us the Rau Forest in a different kind of way so that we could understand what the inpact is on the environment. This is a trip we could recommend to everyone who is in the area of Moshi. Justin is a super guy to talk to and to cycle with. Many thanks from us all.

Highly recommend to do this tour with Peter and his friends while in Moshi. You'll learn about a town that is so much more than just a mandatory step before climbing the Killimanjaro. The tour will let you get a taste of local life: see the market, get some ginger shots (careful, it's strong!), walk the busy streets, watch the sunset and hang out with the friendly people of Moshi.

Would 100% recommend Altezza! Our team leader was Peter who was exceptional in organising the team to assist our group of 8 on the expedition. The other guides we had helping us were amazing, and were Godson, Osward and Joesph. The overall team of porters and chefs were incredible, always with a smile on their face.

The food was excellent and they catered to our dietary requirements. The team adjusted the pace for our group to make sure we were all comfortable. They answered any questions we had about the mountain. We learnt so much from them in terms of not only the mountain itself but also life philosophy too.

Summit day was a big challenge for us, however the team motivated us and we all managed to summit. In particular Peter, Godson and Osward struck the right balance in terms of pushing us to our limits and enabling us to succeed.

We were also told by many members of the team that Altezza treat their staff very fairly and they were all happy to work for them.

I did the lemosho 7 day tour. I had a fantastic time. Management communicated very well and are customer friendly. Everything was explained clearly and we had amazing guides called Gabrielle and Prudence, porters and the chef and his assistant. The team went above and beyond my expectation and I am grateful for their help to reach the summit of kilimanjaro. I have no hesitation to recommend this company to my family and friends!. Asanti 😁

My friend and I had a 7-day migration safari (River Crossing) with Williamson Adventures exceeded our expectations. The captivating sights of wildebeest herds were absolutely breathtaking, a true testament to the wonders of nature. Our knowledgeable guide Raymond made the experience even more remarkable with his deep understanding of the wildlife and their behaviors. The seamless combination of the safari with a day trip to Materuni Waterfall and Coffee Tour added a perfect touch of cultural immersion. The lush greenery and the thundering waterfall were a sight to behold, and the coffee tour was enlightening. Williamson's team orchestrated a flawless journey, ensuring comfort and safety throughout. This safari was a life-changing experience, and I'm incredibly grateful to William and his team for making it so exceptional.
