A 35 min walk to the astonishing waterfall and Andrew the guide became master of photography. He was animated, knowledgeable and friendly. On the return walk was the coffee experience: from bean to cup village style. One reviewer said this was touristy: I guess they may not do all the singing and dancing when they want a coffee but, as a tourist visiting for an hour, I enjoyed the experience and the coffee. As this was a Sunday morning many of the village were at church so we drove to the hot springs for a simple lunch. Amazing to swim in the warm clear water surrounded by lush vegetation. Stayed as long as I wanted them returned to the hotel.
These three experience in one day made an excellent activity. Would certainly recommend.

Alfred picked us up at the hotel and drove to the Materuni Village where we did a 45 minute walk to the amazing Materuni falls. The we had enough time to tale pictures and even bath under the cascade. Later we walked to another place of the village where we havean awesome lunch which included mangos, bananas and avocados grown organically there. To finalize, we grinded, toasted and tasted our own coffee from the beans of the local plantations. Also, don't forget to try your banana beer!! The staff was super friendly and made the trip most enjoyable.

Me and my friend had an amazing experience with Gilly from KLM Safaris. It was a pleasure to spend some time with him and get so much info about the place as well as Tanzania.

We immediately planned another excursion with them the next day and it was as excellent as our first one!!

This was definitely one of the highlights on my recent trip to Tanzania. We began the tour by trekking to the waterfall (Materuni) at the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Then proceeded to go to a small village where we had a nice African lunch and made arabica coffee. This was very fun and you could tell the Materuni people really wanted you to enjoy the experience. There was lots of singing and dancing with every part of the coffee making process.

Booked as a last-second thing to do for the night, and it was an unforgettable experience. The host/owner was extremely friendly and responsive, and the vibes were great all-around. We parked at their new establishment, the bar Maisha Halisi (also recommend checking it out). The building itself (pictured) is a work of modern art, and is constructed from recycled wood and materials. The food was amazing, and I (solo traveler) joined the other group of individuals onto the bus to watch the sunset. We sang and played music, and the vibes were immaculate. I would definitely recommend checking out Maisha Halisi and the sunset bus if you are visiting Moshi.

Great service, don't even use any other service to get around Arusha or Moshi. Price is also most competitive.

I wish i could give 10 stars! This was truly amazing. Amazing experience and real in depth view and experience of what a local coffee plantation is like. The young entrepreneurs organizing and doing this are great and well prepared for the visit. Very professional. Transportation to and from there was another amazing experience in its own. Thank you guys 👊🏽

Wow! A wonderful day experiences the Kili area! Joel was awesome! We LOVED seeing the waterfall (trek in is not for the very old, very young or unfit). Our experience with the Chugga tribe understanding and making coffee was super cool and the local meal they provided was delish and abundant! The hot springs were fun (not hot btw lol)
The entire day was a success thanks to Joel as guide and Mohameds agency, by far the best for all tours in the area!

Elieth was very friendly and make my short escape very comfortable. I had so much fun in materuni waterfalls, I had also the chance to visit a coffee plantation near by the waterfall. We truly had a good connection.

I loved the experience. The guide was friendly and prepared and very concerned about our well being. Since our arrival at the village there was an unforgettable welcome and a lot of willingness to explain all the local customs to me. I recommend this fantastic experience to everyone

William and his son picked us up from our hotel and brought us to the market to try many foods like peas, sardines, tamarind, fruits and more. It was a great way to see how the people of Moshi live. Then he brought us to his mothers house where we met Marissa and her girls. We had appetizers and then the kids took off to play. We got to learn the process of coconut milk, ugali, beef stew and more. Taught how to use ugali when you eat, dessert, and kids placed jelly bean boozle that we brought from USA. Highly recommended activity to do when in Moshi.
