We had a nice ride looking at beautiful landscapes and local villages until we reached the point where the trekking starts.
Trekking up to the Materuni waterfall is amazing, takes a bit less than 1h and it’s not difficult at all. It just gets pretty muddy in some points so a stick is useful, our guide Bazil provided wooden sticks for us.
On the way back we stopped at one of the local houses of the village where Jery, his lovely children and his friends welcomed us. Jery was really nice and informative about coffee plantation and preparation and local life.
They showed us every step of the preparation, we had a cup of fresh coffee and an amazing lunch, one of the best that we had in Tanzania!
If you’re looking for a nice, authentic experience near Kilimanjaro, I definitely recommend this tour.

It was busy and good to see the local ways. We then drove to Materuni Village where we prepared and cooked four dishes. The women in the village made me very welcome and it was a lovely experience. I would thoroughly recommend this trip to anyone. At the end of cooking you sit down and eat your meal that you cooked.

Had a great welcome by the people who would show me the traditional methods of coffee making. Everybody was friendly, willing to share information and answer questions. I got a tour of the grounds and I also visited Materuni waterfall. Highly recommended this experience, you won't be disappointed. The coffee plantation was on the way to the waterfall. 2 days later I was asked for $80.00 to cover the coffee plantation visit, as was another in person in the group. This was a surprise to both of us. Now t I see in the posting that the waterfall and coffee plantation visit total is $70. I feel cheated for not being told upfront of the extra change now by seeing the add for both $70 Hmmm

We had so much fun at the market and learning how to cook traditional food with William, his mother and her friends. We were made to feel part of the family. And the food was excellent! I’m planning to do the millet tamarind porridge myself. - Anold C1 contributionChamecha Mana Culture Tourism highly 💯💯, Johnson is an exelent guide. I and my wife had a realy good tour in materuni village the hiking into the nature is realy wonderfull. The coffee is extremly good and delicious.
