Materuni waterfalls is an amazing attraction in Moshi town in Kilimanjaro region. The waterfall is up to 80m high and it gets its source from mountain Kilimanjaro.

On a clear day you get to see the peak of mountain Kilimanjaro which unfortunately I wasn't able to see in that day but it was an interesting experience with the locals at the coffee farm.

    Definitely recommend this place

We had an amazing day! From drinking banana wine, to swimming in the waterfall and then making our own coffee with traditional songs🏞. Our guide MPemba was fantastic and very interested in telling us everything there is to know about Tanzania. He has a very wide range of knowledge so you can ask him almost everything. Truly recommend you go on thid trip with him 😊

I am still processing how special this "tour" was. I've decided that it's the people, it's the coffee, it's, the food, it's the ingenuity, it's the passion, it's the land...it's the dreams, it's the PEOPLE!

I felt like I was welcomed into a community that felt like family and kindness.

Let's talk about the coffee...I don't know what I've been drinking all my life. To have had a chance to pick the beans, process them, roast them, grind them, and then drink this elixer of the Gods stopped me dead in my tracks.

I've finally tasted COFFEE. I've come to learn that coffee preparation is actually what felt like a spiritual experience...like medicine. I learned from our guides how special coffee truly is.

I want to go back to the tree house and eat and gather with the Kingstone family again!

We just came back from a coffee tour with Eli and Max. Firstly, we walked with Eli through the city of Moshi to the roastery and he provided us with a lot of information about local life and customs. The way back we had a fun tuktuk ride. Arriving at the roastery, we learned everything of the process from harvesting of the fruit to the ground coffee. We saw and touched the beans at the different stages and enjoyed a live roasting. We talked about auction strategies (it‘s like poker), the global coffee market, starbucks and much more. Max was so knowledgeable and willing to share his treasure of knowhow. We could feel his passion in every sentence and we highly recommend joining on of the tours while you are in Moshi

It was an amazing experience 😍
    Professional team and great company.
The hiking tour is approximately 2*2.5km, but it is worth it at the end.

    I recommend it.

I had a perfect day. I was picked up at my hotel and Noela and I went to the market to buy the ingredients we needed. It was busy and good to see the local ways. We then drove to Materuni Village where we prepared and cooked four dishes. The women in the village made me very welcome and it was a lovely experience. I would thoroughly recommend this trip to anyone. At the end of cooking you sit down and eat your meal that you cooked.

A fantastic day in a mountain village

Excellent tour which started with greetings from Filex, we travelled to the location outside of Moshi and I was made aware of places of interest. Had a great welcome by the people who would show me the traditional methods of coffee making. Everybody was friendly, willing to share information and answer questions. I got a tour of the grounds and I also visited Materuni waterfall. Highly recommended this experience, you won't be disappointed. Thanks!

The experience was like nothing I have done before. Emmanuel and Eric were both very kind and their English were excellent. I learned a lot about the local calture and nature of the area. The whole day was something I will remember for a while and the waterfalls is a place I would definitely like to visit again one day.

Had such fun cooking with Williams mother and her friend!
The market tour was nice and informative, we have looked, sniffed and tried new foods, all of which were amazing.
We cooked with fresh produce and on a traditional wood fire, making the food delicious.
The banana stew, beef stew and ugali were so tasty and nice. Looking forward to replicate at home!

This was great way to learn about the wonderful people of Africa and get to interact w them. I could not have been more pleased our guide a s experience. He took great care to make sure that they picked us up and dropped us off safely. The guide seemed to have an unlimited amount of knowledge and was so friendly. Definitely recommend taking this tour and experiencing something that you will never forget.

I had an amazing trip! The waterfall is just breathtaking and the coffee tour was a lot of fun too. The rain made the experience even more adventurous and a hot coffee at the fire after the hike was one of my favourite parts of the trip. Everything was well organized, I felt safe and I am super happy that I have chosen to do that tour with Msafiri 😊

Actually this trip to the waterfall was part of a package trip. The coffee plantation was on the way to the waterfall. 2 days later I was asked for $80.00 to cover the coffee plantation visit, as was another in person in the group. This was a surprise to both of us. Now t I see in the posting that the waterfall and coffee plantation visit total is $70. I feel cheated for not being told upfront of the extra change now by seeing the add for both $70 Hmmm
It was a wonderful experience but I do feel taken advantage of.
