- Birgitta-KennethSolna, Sweden1,628 contributionsA guided tour of this absolutely amazing theatre takes one hour and it is a well invested hour indeed. So much details in the design of the theatre.Written 29 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- DavidSLondon, UK31 contributionsInteresting, fairly trendy district of Buenos Aires. Some nice cafés, bars and restaurants. Easily walkable from the centre but regular hop-on hop-off tour buses also stop here.Written 8 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PavelHong Kong, China9 contributionsAn absolute gem in Buenos Aires and South America as a whole. Amazing restaurants, fantastic Air Bnb’s, everywhere you look the apartment lobbies are super clean and tasteful with an overall very safe family environment. Big supermarket (Coto) and several nice gelato / alfajor cafes (Lucciano’s and Rapanui).
A European city architecture but with South American hospitality and flair.
For most good restaurants (El Burladero and La Roux) make sure you reserve about a day in advance. But be aware this is probably one of the more upscale and expensive areas for eating out and staying - totally worth it though. For alternatives also check out Palermo.Written 13 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Birgitta-KennethSolna, Sweden1,628 contributionsIt was a bit of a new world to discover, for a north european, to visit the exhibitions at MALBA. Really interesting and well designedWritten 29 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TravelingAmosNew Jersey896 contributionsWe spent a day in the city after disembarking from a cruise ship. We took a walk through the park and then walked into the more commercial area. We stopped at the mosque (Mezquita de Palermo), where we found a group tour underway. We had dinner at Al-Rawhse, an excellent halal restaurant serving Lebanese food.Written 18 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dcrow1970Dallas, TX122 contributionsSuch a beautiful park right in city. I found this by accident. Because it’s winter now everything was cut down.you can already see them all growing for the spring. The maintenance workers were working their magic and everything is growing and just as beautiful. The park also has a night light show I saw advertisedWritten 13 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Noel78Tennessee673 contributionsSpent worthwhile time here. The art collection was quite impressive.
If you like art museum gift shops though, I think you will be quite unimpressed by their offerings.
On a Friday afternoon in the summer this place was packed with people.
Yes, it is “free,” in the listings but we were directed to a kiosk by an employee who stood by us while we were shown how to use the machine. I didn’t mind supporting them a bit. But if you are planning on a free activity, this may not be for you.Written 11 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Restaurants, milongas, bars in abundance.Written 21 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- betteskidBoston, MA1,351 contributionsWe explored Palermo Soho during a recent visit to Buenos Aires. The area has many, many restaurants and shops (not touristy - a big plus) and many buildings, shops and homes that have artists murals. It is a lovely area and gives you a slice of where many of the younger people in Buenos Aires live. The area has a Bohemian flair and is definitely worth visiting.Written 26 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - betteskidBoston, MA1,351 contributionsWe visited this cathedral when we erected in the area. The church is very interesting from an architectural and historical perspective. The mausoleum of Jose de San Martin, which looks rather like Napoleon’s (and was built by the same person) is housed there and there is a very interesting memorial remembering Holocaust.Written 26 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AMJ151 contributionsI was passing through BA for only one day and really hadn't planned anything. My hotel was right on the square and it was Sunday, so I was swept up for the whole day in this unexpected (for me) fair. I had a great time walking around looking at the various goods, stopped for lunch, walked over to the Contemporary Art Museum, and had a drink on the 2nd floor overlooking the square as everything packed up for the evening - then enjoyed the drumming groups that came to play, and stayed for a bit as it got dark watching people tango under the streetlights. I didn't buy anything, but I had a marvelous time.Written 24 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - backpacker31Boynton Beach, FL5,959 contributionsDecember 2024 was the first time I’d returned to Casa Rosada/Pink Palace in more than 14 years. For several months back in 2010 I was fortunate to have lived in BA. During this time I would visit Casa Rosada quite frequently. In fact, I happened to be here when former Argentine President Nestor Kirchner passed away and his wife at the time, former President Cristina Fernandez was receiving the public. The building is quite stately and occupies a prime, central location in the heart of downtown BA. I always thought the front of the palace could use some sort of formal garden. While the interior isn’t open to the public, there’s plenty to admire on the outside. Be sure to look for the balcony where Eva Peron made her famous speech. There is plenty of security/police presence around the palace as well as in the plaza in front.Written 5 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Birgitta-KennethSolna, Sweden1,628 contributionsWe have never encountered anything like this before but it reminds us a bit of "The Bean" in Chicago but this one is way more impressive and really stands out.Written 22 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - gniteIreneToronto, Canada1,025 contributionsWe really enjoyed our visit to this museum housed in the former mansion of the Errázuriz- Alvear family. The architecture alone is worth a visit. There is a varied collection of art, sculptures, treasures and the Great Hall, dining room and ballroom, of course, cannot be missed. Admission is free and there is a cute cafe in the garden outside the front door. I'm so glad I visited.Written 15 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
