The tour of the El Zanjon De Granados was very cool and a unique look into the city's history, told through the history of this building. Once a mansion owned by a wealthy family, and later turned into tenement housing, this home housed underground tunnels to funnel the strong local rivers flowing through.

Lucia (spelling? hope I got it right!) was an EXCELLENT tour guide. She is very passionate and knowledgeable about the history of the building and site, and taught us all about its original construction, ownership, and eventual restoration and renovation. She also gave us a picture as to what life was like in the early days of Buenos Aires in the surrounding neighborhood. She was wonderful and gave us a thorough tour at a very nice pace so we could stop and take photos and look around. I highly recommend this one.

A very unusual find in the centre of BA. Massive grandiose building, looks like a museum or university from outside. Free to visit, downstairs is kiosks with locals paying their water bills, museum is upstairs and has displays and explanations about the history of sanitation and a large collection of water closets, urinals etc. yes really! Some of the displays have an English translation. You also see some of the huge water tanks. Different for sure, we were there for about 30-35 minutes. Not a ‘must see’ but if you are nearby and have some free time….

This is an amazing place showing how the wealthy Argentinian lived 100 years ago. To reserve your visit you should contact reservaspalaciopaz@gmail.com from one week before.

Many of the bones of dinosaur-age creators actually lived in Argentina, with their remnants discovered here. There are many exhibit rooms. Some of these are house collections related prehistoric mammals, reptiles, sea-life, geology, and more.

This Argentine tango show is held inside the Borges Cultural Center (BCC) located inside the beautiful Galerias Pacifico shopping center in Buenos Aires. Theater type seats are basic, cushioned, and comfortable.

Different performances of tango are scheduled for different days during the week. Three of us went to see Pasion de Tango show on a Tuesday evening. One of the few early tango shows in Buenos Aires central area so you can plan other activities such as wining and dining at other places.

One purchases open-seating tickets at least one-hour before the show at their manned kiosk inside the BCC. Cost in Feb 2020 was only $900 Argentine Pesos. Cash only, no credit cards. Theatre is air-conditioned and kept at a comfortable temperature. Lighting is good. Sound is good.

No photography or video recording of any kind is allowed during the performance. They sell DVDs after the show however, we never found them.

The performance included a small live band which played quite well. The dancers performed historic Argentine tangos covering several periods and costume changes. A solo male singer serenaded the audience between dances. The entire show started early at 8 pm and ended at just over an hour. This allows finding dinner later at a dedicated restaurant.

In summary, a great introduction to historic Argentine tangos with no frills (no drinks or food service to gouge patrons).

I attended the Luces, la revolución show with a group of 9 students and one other adult. I was the only fluent Spanish speaker, though most of the others know some degree of the language. I chose it because of its uniqueness, and I figured that 50 minutes was short enough if they had a hard time understanding. I feel they spoke slowly and enunciated well, and most of my students were able to follow the gist. The performance itself was stellar, though I didn't think to tell the students to close their eyes. It is PITCH BLACK DARK, so there's no way your eyes will ever focus. As a result, several nearly had panic attacks and ended up in existential ponderings about what is real and what is a construct. Closing my eyes, though, led to a wonderful experience.

A nicely arranged exhibition but a little hard to know the flow of movement. Nice installations with Spanish descriptions. The flow between spaces was hard to follow as the route between one room to the next was not clear. The art was interesting and some replicated that we saw at MALBA.

Take the A subway and get off at Puan. Walk a few blocks along Av. Rivadavia, turn right on Emilio Mitre, Walk four blocks to corner of Emilio Mitre and Av.Jose Bonifacio. You'll probably see folks already standing in line to catch this free tram. The ride is about 20 min., punctuated in the middle with a description (in Spanish) of these old trams, after which one of the motormen presents calendars, key chains, mugs, etc.for purchase to support these old trams. A calendar is 150 pesos. We love old trams/trains anyway and this was a good way to walk around a different neighborhood. Limited hours, only Sat. and Sun.

This is a very important place to go to learn about the history of Argentina Dictatorship. This place has so much potiental and would get more tourist if they invested more into this historic sight. The English Autior tours are a bit confusing on the directions and could have provided more information. I wish the offfered more in person tours.

love this vintage market in the heart of bsas. Vastly superior to the touristy and crowded sunday san telmo market. yes, theres a lot of furnishings here which is hard to fit into your suitcase for the trip home. but there is also a plethora of collectible argentine pop culture from the last 75 years. all reasonably priced and staffed by knowledgable and kind vendors. went with my daughter and we both left with local treasures!

Buenos Aires has more famous and well-frequented museums, but this one stood out to me as a hidden gem that is not particularly off the beaten path. However, it is easy to miss if you're not looking for it. The museum has a nice collection of colonial art that a visitor could easily spend a couple hours looking at. Even though it is a small museum and not as famous as the other attractions in the city, it was one of my favorite places when I visited BA.

It is located outside of the hectic city centre in a quiet area. Like any other Basilica or church in the city , it is very beautiful and peaceful.

Miscellaneous, bohemian, art, colors, music, fun .... all that and much more is Botica del Angel; founded in 1966 by Eduardo Vergara Leuman .... an iconic & extravagant character from Buenos Aires. His idea was to give rise to all those artists who wished to make more private presentations or, who were unknown .... this beautiful character gave them the opportunity in this wonderful place full of decorating with pieces of scenery, donated objects & made especially ... .is a fun museum and the walls keep innumerable secrets of the famous bohemian night of Buenos Aires.
The three-story theater at the back of the building is undoubtedly the Stars place: no microphone is used to perform....it`s the artist & the public.
This year the musical/theatrical activity of the place resumed, as it functions as a Museum in charge of Universidad del Salvador.
It is a place to visit and enjoy, be surprised by its unique decoration: each corner is a tribute: not only great artists have passed but also foreign visitors and leaders: you have to go!

My partner and I did a wine tasting with Gaston, and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Buenos Aires. Gaston was incredibly knowledgeable and tailored the tasting to our individual preferences and existing wine knowledge. He was also a delight to spend two hours with!

We enjoyed 8 wines, paired with delicious local cheese, including a couple of extras Gaston chose to fit our tastes. Both my partner and I tried two separate wines we absolutely fell in love with during the tasting - will definitely be making an overseas order from Ja! soon.

Couldn’t recommend it more, 50 usd might seem like a lot for a tasting, but for the quality of wines you sample, the knowledge you leave with and the friendly, attentive staff, it’s 100% worth it.
