Stunning theater and opportunity to gawk at the beauty that is this piece of art. There is so much to see and the tour really walks you through all the details of the theater that you would other wise miss. Next time we’ll try to see a performance here too!

Spent worthwhile time here. The art collection was quite impressive.

If you like art museum gift shops though, I think you will be quite unimpressed by their offerings.

On a Friday afternoon in the summer this place was packed with people.

Yes, it is “free,” in the listings but we were directed to a kiosk by an employee who stood by us while we were shown how to use the machine. I didn’t mind supporting them a bit. But if you are planning on a free activity, this may not be for you.

We visited this cathedral when we erected in the area. The church is very interesting from an architectural and historical perspective. The mausoleum of Jose de San Martin, which looks rather like Napoleon’s (and was built by the same person) is housed there and there is a very interesting memorial remembering Holocaust.

A fun place to explore and get a meal. Plenty of options to choose from at a variety of small venues, with seating throughout. More restaurants and food stalls than shopping within the market, but shops are located in and around the market. Walked from here to Caminito during the day on a weekday without issue but the area is gritty and would not recommend doing so at night.

We really enjoyed our visit to this museum housed in the former mansion of the Errázuriz- Alvear family. The architecture alone is worth a visit. There is a varied collection of art, sculptures, treasures and the Great Hall, dining room and ballroom, of course, cannot be missed. Admission is free and there is a cute cafe in the garden outside the front door. I'm so glad I visited.

Absolute gem. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit with our guide Lucas. The history of the building and city was so interesting.

The acoustics are fabulous in the main salon, where we were treated to a memorable concert of alumni, students, maestros from Folkloric Orchestra of the School of Popular Music of Avellaneda. What a night of song and instruments!

unfortunately you can’t take any pictures inside the museum. The house was bought by the Eva Peron foundation in 1948 and served as a shelter for women and children. Terribly sad that Evita died so young (33 yrs old) from uterine cancer. When she died the city mourned her for 15 days !

Good small museum which also serves as a home for mothers and their children. Museum does a good job telling about Evita’s childhood and how she met Juan Peron. Definitely worth a stop.

This basilica is a hidden Gem in the middle of the Corina Kavanagh side street between the Plaza Hotel and the Kavanagh Building Tower. It was once a private mausoleum built by Mercedes Castellanos de Anchorena, who lived across the nearby San Martin Plaza in a mansion now the Argentine Foreign Ministry.
The family were great supporters of the Roman Catholic church, and a basilica is an award given only by the Pope. It is one of the most richly ornamented churches in Buenos Aires, built in 1916, with Romanesque & Gothic elements and five towers. It was designed after the Cathedral in Angoulême, France; it has a French-made 5000 pipes organ and awesome stained-glass windows; there are 8 confessionals inside, all individually decorated with elaborate woodwork. The altar is magnificent. Also, the floor is covered with lots of unique coloured stones. It is dedicated to the Blessed Sacrament; the church belongs to the order of the Sacramentans founded by Saint Peter Julian Eymard and is now open to the public,

TIP: The crypt can be visited only on Friday from 9 to 3 p.m.

A cool place to visit. Don’t need a ton of time here, but it was really nice to walk around and see the theater that is repurposed to now be a bookstore. A lot of history here!

A good way to spend a couple of hours. My 5yr old had a good time and we found it quite educational. Our timed entrance was at 5:30pm on a weekday and it was really busy with lots of school groups.

This mall is upscale and generally expensive. Some of the stores are those found in any upscale mall but others carried Argentine products that were gorgeous. It is well air conditioned and safe with many security men around. The food court has a lot of options and most people there were locals. Was very surprised by the grocery store on the Pousada end of the mall. It carried a huge variety of products.
