Absolute gem. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit with our guide Lucas. The history of the building and city was so interesting.

The acoustics are fabulous in the main salon, where we were treated to a memorable concert of alumni, students, maestros from Folkloric Orchestra of the School of Popular Music of Avellaneda. What a night of song and instruments!

The palace is in the Neoclassical style, primarily made of white marble, and has elaborately furnished interiors, especially in the Lost Steps Hall and the Blue Room. It was designed by the Italian architect Vittorio Meano in 1898 and completed by the Argentine architect Julio Dorma in 1906.
Its weathered bronze-plated green dome is 260 feet in height and weighs 3,000 tons. On national holidays, it is illuminated.
The main entrance, the Entrada de Honor ("Honor Entrance"), is exclusively used for ceremonial purposes. A barber shop used to be in the basement, but it has been demolished.
The Senate offers free guided tours on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays in English (12.30 pm) and Spanish (5.00 pm). The tours visit several rooms, including the chambers of both houses and the library.
In front of the Congress Building is a statue of The Thinker looking away.
TIP: The zero-kilometre mark next to the building; is where all of Argentina's National Highways start from.

This building is beautiful, and it is maintained in great shape. The biggest point is that it has a restaurant on the top floor where you can admire the XIX century decoration and style. The restaurant has good food, it is not expensive and it is not that well known. Definitely worth a visit, especially to get to see the building and feel the atmosphere.

The Ziggurat design ensures light and air can reach people at street level. The higher you get, the more, the successive levels are receding. The result is you almost feel like looking at a pointed tower rising from a terrace. The combination of USA rationalism and European art-deco is also an achievement. Goodbye to the curves and unnecessary ornamentation of the Bell Epoque era. And all this in Buenos Aires in the 1930s.

It is the largest Mosque in Latin America and resulted from President Carlos Menem's 1995 grant of 34,000 m² of municipal land in the Palermo section of Buenos Aires to the Mosque, following a state visit to Saudi Arabia.

We stumbled across this hidden courtyard, during a walk along calle defensa, during the san Telmo open air market. The house was built in the 1880s, the residence of the Ezeiza family these days it is a Cultural center with cafes, shops and popular market area.
