I visited classes there for about 2 months and went to their yoga retreat in Uruguay which was amazing with lots of forever lasting memories. I recommend the studio to any traveller wishing to go to a yoga class while travelling or staying in BA!Written 24 June 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Yoga, meditation, pilates, you have everything to make a stop, take a breathe, relax and carry on. Like an oasis in the desert, like a lotus flower in the mud, Urban Lotus is a blow of fresh air for your soul, body and spirit in the city of Buenos Aires.Written 7 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - EliseGrantVictoria, Australia6 contributionsI visited this beautiful little ashram in Jan 2014. Is was exactly the place I needed to be to shed the distractions and frustrations of life. I stayed as a guest but chose to get involved in cooking with the locals for the guests/backpackers. I loved the philosophy of cooking in silence as a form of meditation, the designs and simplicity of the eco huts and the beautifully designed temple holding daily meditation, chanting and singing. Yoga classes were held in the eco theatre and we enjoyed watching movies in the evenings. Days spent reflecting on self and getting back in touch with nature. You will be forced to relax given the nearest town with wifi is only a short 20 minute bus trip away. If you're ready to let go and be open to a new experience that just might open your mind and take you to places you only dreamed were possible, this is the place :)Written 18 May 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ron BJakarta, Indonesia5 contributionsAs a travel buff and yoga fanatic/teacher I am always trying to get in a few yoga classes when I am abroad. Most places have either good teachers/staff, a good shala, or a good location but have not seen any with all three. ( aside from my home studio in Jakarta and its sister in Bali)... Till I went to The Centro De Yoga and Meditation/Vida Natural.
Its in a converted house, a full three stories of house! The reception, changing and casual area is on the ground floor, there are two yoga rooms complete with solid wood flooring on the second, and the top floor is one huge room. This room is very open with huge windows on both sides and is impressive as it is fully kitted out for Iyengar yoga. They also teach astanga, vinyasa, hatha and kids yoga along with quite a few meditation classes and also it seems a lot of workshops.
What really warmed my heart were the people,, the teacher I had was Sol for the Iyengar class', and the staff who work there Sonia, Agustina and Florencia are all very kind and just good people!!!
Admittedly their English was either average or they just were out of practice or maybe a bit shy, but I was in a Spanish speaking country. Most likely if you have made it all the way to Argentina you already have some Spanish skills which will be enough,, and you can always do what I did,, with Sols permission,, to look at and copy the other students. Having said that, Sol seemed to be everywhere to adjust each of the 10 or so students and made each feel like they were in a private class.
The cost for a drop in is around 250 pesos or 21 USD, which for a big city is reasonable. My guess tho is they barely break even given the huge investment they put into the place..
but you know what,, they don't do it for the money,, they do it because they want to,, thats their magic!!Written 12 April 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
