A wonderful surprise of a building. Yes you might have read in advance that it is an old theatre converted to a bookstore but that doesn't prepare you for the authenticity that remains. Quite amazing, free to enter and obviously a wonderful selection of books. .

Pretty hard to miss these markets, as they were set up out front of our hotel! Every Sunday from 10am to late afternoon/early evening there are over 200 booths selling everything imaginable! I picked up a great wooden chess set with the Jesuits taking on the Incas, I'm rooting for the locals! You can buy curios, vinyl records, clothes, hats, artwork, food, jewellery, the list is endless. A great way to spend a couple of hours on a sunny Sunday, strolling the cobblestone alleys and people watching. Just keep the wife moving or your wallet will be much lighter!

I just wish we had of found this place earlier in our visit? As it was, we only had time to scratch the surface on what was on offer in the market. Heaps of food sources & bars with all the other market offerings, from meat, vegies, vinyl records to curios! Absolutely packed on our visit and a very popular spot for locals & tourists. Make sure you give yourselves time to enjoy this place. Been going since 1897 and easy to see why!

Great place to mingle with and watch the locals. Don't be put off by the 30 to 40 minute drive from the historic center or Palermo neighborhoods. It's easy to get an uber or a cab. Wonderful beef sandwiches. Eat while listening to folk music and watching folk dancing in the street. A number of booths selling food (we bought bread, cheese and sausages), clothing, (my wife bought a dress) arts and crafts and knives (I bought one with an armadillo handle[a work of art. Prices were very reasonable. Some of those attending were wearing gaucho attire. Didn't see many tourists.

A great shopping mall. There is plenty of things to do and see. A branch of Falabella, a department store; Yenny, music and books, with an incredible variety of offers that no other branch has. There is also a supermarket on the ground floor. The cinemas have 3D and 4D screens, and the food court displays a wide choice of cuisine, from local "asado" to Chinese and vegan. Unmissable.

This mall is upscale and generally expensive. Some of the stores are those found in any upscale mall but others carried Argentine products that were gorgeous. It is well air conditioned and safe with many security men around. The food court has a lot of options and most people there were locals. Was very surprised by the grocery store on the Pousada end of the mall. It carried a huge variety of products.

Luxurious and upmarket shopping mall in the city centre. There are a lot of shops on offer from Fashion, to Shoes, Handbags, Jewellery, Perfume, Opticians etc to mention a few on different levels. The decor is easy on the eye and exudes elegance. They also have a very large food court with different cuisines on offer. There was an art exhibition taking place on the top level with wonderful portraits on display and also some beautiful portraits as well on the day I visited. This is the best shopping mall out of the ones I visited and I recommend visiting if you happen to visit BA.

It was located in the center of Recoleta near the famous cemetery of the same name. In 1732, Jesuit architects designed the building in the Gothic Revival style as a home for Recoleta friars.
Over time, it has been a school, hospital, and shelter for homeless people until the 1970s.
After renovating in the 1980s, it was turned into an exhibition and cultural center, where concerts, artistic presentations, and workshops of diverse kinds are held, especially for young artists.
Check out its event calendar for upcoming events.
TIP: It even has a beautiful terrace with sculptures overlooking the park.

This Argentine tango show is held inside the Borges Cultural Center (BCC) located inside the beautiful Galerias Pacifico shopping center in Buenos Aires. Theater type seats are basic, cushioned, and comfortable.

Different performances of tango are scheduled for different days during the week. Three of us went to see Pasion de Tango show on a Tuesday evening. One of the few early tango shows in Buenos Aires central area so you can plan other activities such as wining and dining at other places.

One purchases open-seating tickets at least one-hour before the show at their manned kiosk inside the BCC. Cost in Feb 2020 was only $900 Argentine Pesos. Cash only, no credit cards. Theatre is air-conditioned and kept at a comfortable temperature. Lighting is good. Sound is good.

No photography or video recording of any kind is allowed during the performance. They sell DVDs after the show however, we never found them.

The performance included a small live band which played quite well. The dancers performed historic Argentine tangos covering several periods and costume changes. A solo male singer serenaded the audience between dances. The entire show started early at 8 pm and ended at just over an hour. This allows finding dinner later at a dedicated restaurant.

In summary, a great introduction to historic Argentine tangos with no frills (no drinks or food service to gouge patrons).

A modern mall located opposite to Recoleta Cemetery, we were there to grab something to eat, there were many restaurants and cafes that suit every taste.
There were plenty of shops and brands and a cinema. If you love shopping then this is the place for you.

Visited this large Shopping Centre recently. It was very busy with different shops on different levels. They devoted a whole floor to activities for children on the day I visited - Zip Wire, soft ball area etc including a cinema & theme park and appears to be family friendly. They have a large food court full of different fast food outlets and you could easily spend a couple of hours here wandering around.

The main appeal of the Galería Güemes is the architecture. There are some shops, but they were not of great interest to me. It was built in 1913 in the art nouveau style and designed by Italian architect Francisco Gianotti. The ornate details of the glass ceiling domes are a glimpse back into history.
