On Sundays they block off Defensa street and it is lined with merchants and peddlers. If you walk up one side and back the other, you will have expended about all the energy you want to expend. There are remarkable craft people here!

This former theater turned into a book store is a good goal for a stroll in Recoleta. It's uplifting to see such an inventive and beautifully effectuated re-purposing of this space.

Nevertheless check it out. fresh food as well as many restaraunts and bars, souvenir and collectible shops. It is crowded and hot but worth a quick walk through which is what we did. There are several shops where you can get authentic souvenirs, leather pastries, wine if you walk the cobblestone streets in this area.

This Argentine tango show is held inside the Borges Cultural Center (BCC) located inside the beautiful Galerias Pacifico shopping center in Buenos Aires. Theater type seats are basic, cushioned, and comfortable.

Different performances of tango are scheduled for different days during the week. Three of us went to see Pasion de Tango show on a Tuesday evening. One of the few early tango shows in Buenos Aires central area so you can plan other activities such as wining and dining at other places.

One purchases open-seating tickets at least one-hour before the show at their manned kiosk inside the BCC. Cost in Feb 2020 was only $900 Argentine Pesos. Cash only, no credit cards. Theatre is air-conditioned and kept at a comfortable temperature. Lighting is good. Sound is good.

No photography or video recording of any kind is allowed during the performance. They sell DVDs after the show however, we never found them.

The performance included a small live band which played quite well. The dancers performed historic Argentine tangos covering several periods and costume changes. A solo male singer serenaded the audience between dances. The entire show started early at 8 pm and ended at just over an hour. This allows finding dinner later at a dedicated restaurant.

In summary, a great introduction to historic Argentine tangos with no frills (no drinks or food service to gouge patrons).

We really enjoyed an afternoon here. This is a place locals go to enjoy the atmosphere, food, music and culture.

Normally when I see the words 'cultural centre' I imagine an empty old building serving as a make-work project and people paid to sit around and do nothing. But here, it's much different.
Young people dancing- in different styles from room to room. Workshops, DJs, Art galleries and exhibitions small and large, wild and wonderful. Whoever curates this place really puts together fantastic presentations. There's even a hands-on science gallery for younger kids. (Touching the displays is mandatory!)
I admit it felt a bit strange as an outsider wandering through, but what is art for if not to be seen? But wander you must! There are many galleries within- some along the inside hallway, others along the outer corridor.
There is a craft market outside with food vendors on Saturdays, and a cafe at least inside. In addition they'll have concerts and films, check their web site if you want the current program.
Overall, it was the joy and exhuberance of everthing going on here that made my visit worthwhile.

I tried this mall as it was one of, if not the largest in Buenos Aires. The shopping experience was quite linear. The same kind of shops you would expect from a mid-priced mall. The food court was quite impressive with several restaurants, not just within the food court but also on all other levels. I would however steer clear of the American Diner on the ground floor. I saw, what looked like the supervisor (wearing black) take a spoon out of what looked like a milkshake container, wiped it with her fingers and licked it. She must have liked it as she went back in with the spoon so that she could lick it again. Disgusting. I didn’t order the milkshake!

This mall is upscale and generally expensive. Some of the stores are those found in any upscale mall but others carried Argentine products that were gorgeous. It is well air conditioned and safe with many security men around. The food court has a lot of options and most people there were locals. Was very surprised by the grocery store on the Pousada end of the mall. It carried a huge variety of products.

I would give this place 6 stars if I could. It was recommended to me by a friend. I went in around 11 am, and asked about getting a jacket tailored to fit. I picked out a style and color, and they took my measurements, asked how many days I was visiting for, and when I said 2, they said, “oh, we better get this to you tonight.” I went out to dinner, and when I got back, my perfectly fitted jacket, which was reasonably priced, was waiting in my hotel room. That’s what I call a happy and memorable retail experience.

This market strong side are furnitures and lots of beautiful junk. Alleys and alleys. Nevertheless, you can find hidden gems: the original libreto of operas, precious first edition of books, old fashioned posters and much more. We got a beautiful very old necklace of blue quatro with a golden finishing. Not cheap, but beautiful!

This little shopping mall is very pretty. It has these lovely cobbled streets with an eclectic mix of shops, some with lovely local crafts. Worth a visit if you're in this lovely neighbourhood.

From the gallery, the architecture already takes your attention. The gallery crosses from one street to another. We were instructed to go to the entrance of the Miter tower located in this corridor of the gallery to take the elevator to the 14th floor to go to the "Mirador" or observation deck.
We arrived early and there was no queue. We were very well attended at the box office and at the top Henrique answered all our questions in Portuguese 😁 Enchanting! We stayed a few minutes looking at this beautiful city. It is worth!
