My husband and I signed up for the tango tour, which included a dinner of empanadas, wine and gelato before tango. The empanadas were the best I have had in my entire time in Buenos Aires - we keep talking about going back 1 final time before we have to head back home to the US. The wine was delicious. And the gelato was also the best during our entire trip.
The host, Tamara, did an amazing job of explaining Argentinian culture and history. We were curious about the new president, Javier Milei, and she shared some interesting history and context of his presidency thus far. She is a native porteño but had also lived in the US, so she had a good sense of our background.
The tango was super fun. They had lessons for all levels and we definitely learned some new steps! The instructors were impressive at teaching tango to a group that was a mix of folks only knowing Spanish, others only knowing English, etc.
Overall, this was a highlight of our trip to Argentina! We were debating doing this tour or going to a professional tango show. This was super fun - I highly recommend! You get a great sense of the culture and history of Argentina and Buenos Aires in particular.
