- Cosh2Cardiff, UK166 contributionsPlayed this course recently and was very impressed with the layout and condition. Unfortunately, we had a very bad experience which was entirely due to the starter ! Our group of 6 had to play in 2 and 4 ball format as we were not allowed to have 4 buggies to play 2 three ball groups. Upon arriving at the 1st tee, the starter said my 2 ball would have to be joined by another 2 ball made up of a man and woman. We said we were playing a group competition and he then found another 2 ball - lady and gent - to join the other lady and gent. However, he then put them out at our allocated tee time ! They were all walking whilst we had a buggy, it made no sense to do this as we were obviously going to be quicker than this 4 ball ( who should have been placed behind us and our other 4 ball )
It was painfully slow as one of the group in front was elderly and not mobile at all. Despite this, they would not call us through so we endured 17 holes behind this group and waited every time to play a shot. There was no course marshal to monitor proceedings and this group lost nearly three holes from the group in front of them, absolutely ridiculous. I mentioned this to the pro in the shop who didn’t seem at all interested. I therefore confronted the elderly guy and his wife in the bar and asked him why he wouldn’t call us through, he simply said the starter told him we were with the 4 ball behind !! What sort of etiquette is this from a member of that club. This spoilt our experience as we are not used to taking almost 5 hours 45 minutes in a buggy to play 18 holes when the group in front loses nearly three holes. Due to this, we would never return to this course despite its excellent condition. Clubhouse experience was pro service orientated. This is not fault of the golf course but the municipalitys problem. - Casey B5 contributionsWe did a group tour with Anesu. He was a safe driver and was very entertaining with his story telling. We did a personalize tour around the Cape. He had good suggestions and back up suggestions due to bad weather. He taught us about the local culture as well. When we started this process, we were overwhelmed. We contacted Kirsty who immediately simplified the planning for us. She helped us with a 4 day visit to Cape Town, followed by a Safari in Kenya. She helped with flights, tours, transfer, logistics, etc. Her tremendous communication with us throughout our journey is what set her apart. She communicated with us daily via What's App and she had professional teams in place in both Cape Town and Kenya who met us with name placards at the airport and made sure we were checked in for hotels, tours, and flights before they departed us. They chose the best guides, excellent lodgings, and a fabulous itinerary. They listened to what we wanted and delivered. There were many moving parts and it was as seamless as possible getting us from Uganda to Tanzania, Kenya, and then to Namibia. The trip included a hotel stay and tours in Johannesburg, Safari in Pilanesberg, hotel stay and tours in Cape Town, tours and fine dining in the Wine Country, and a trip to The Cape of Good Hope. Thembelihle of Afri-Centric did an outstanding job curating the total end to end experience. I was extremely impressed with her professionalism, customer centered focus and attention to detail. She maintained excellent communications before, during and after the trip. The drivers she provided flawlessly executed all pickups and transports to and from the airports as well as all tours. The drivers were also friendly, prompt, courteous, extremely knowledgeable, experienced and took their job very seriously. Thanks to Thembelihle and her staff, this trip far exceeded my expectations.
