- Jing X4 contributionsBoschendal was the last stop on our Franschhoek Wine Tram voyage (navy line) and we spent two lovely hours tasting wine and eating delicious farm baked bread underneath the big oak tree at the Cellar Door. Despite being our last stop on the tour and having the Premium Tasting at Boschendal, we could not get enough of Boschendal wine and also tasted their MCC, John le Long Prestige Cuvée which was absolutely lovely. The garden and surroundings are beautiful and we could easily have spent another hour at Boschendal. We left with big bags from the shop filled with our new-found favourite Boschendal wines, cookies and preserved figs - all delicious! - Guest20 contributionsThis was a wonderful little wine estate! We loved that this wasn’t a polished vineyard like some of the larger ones. It was rustic and authentic. We enjoyed a delicious and good value for money breakfast. The Chenin Blanc 2020 and Rose 2019 were lovely - very smooth and easy drinking for brunch! They didn’t have labels yet but this didn’t change the fabulous taste! - Angela GDordogne, France38 contributionsOur accommodation was in a beautiful historic manor house. Strangely it had been severely modernised inside to look like an all white loft apartment. This did not quite work because of the quality of the finish. Our shower drain was blocked and consequently overflowed. The bedhead/bookcase was unstable. The standard of housekeeping was not good and our bed was not made during our stay. The staff we met were very pleasant but were in need of leadership.
