As many prior reviews highlight this is a great travel experience.
Communication from Mr Tinh was exceptional with in depth local knowledge and up to the minute information via WhatsApp connection. It is wise to take note of Mr Tinh’s instructions such as clothing options suitable for a challenging trek in changeable weather conditions common to mountain climbs.
All went as planned as expected from an established tour operator who clearly enjoys assisting visitors to enjoy the wonderful local natural beauty around Sapa and the trek itself.
Chay , the accompanying guide was super calm, experienced ,knowledgeable and great company during this trek.
The pace matched mine rather than his much fitter abilities! ( I am a fit 63y.o)
There was ample time for reflection, photography and enjoyment of the beautiful climb.
Lunch was ample and filling at base camp 2 @ 2800m altitude.
This is a climb for fit people and ideally experienced trekkers , at the end fo the climb @ 11.5km and 1500 metres had accumulated with many almost vertical stair sections and climbing ladders.
We made good time and there was ample time to enjoy the peak on arrival.
The summit has been developed to a surprising extent with a large restaurant, many pagodas, and beautiful succulent and other plant display enhancing the surrounding beautiful ambience.
I recommend the cable car journey down for the views and relaxation after a long upward trek.
A wonderful experience subject to the weather gods and a trek I will return to complete once more with Mr Tinh & Chay my favourite supports.
Final stats (thanks Apple Watch) 5:08hrs,11.44km,KJ. 9894,avHR 147,effort 9 “all out’,altitude gain 1518metres,temperature 3 degrees celsius on the day.
