What travellers are saying
- Mark DNewcastle, Australia2,218 contributionsCanggu is a great beach just located about an hour away from Kuta. I would describe it as more of a surfers beach than swimming, however there is still plenty of places to get wet if you want to swim. It is popular so it does get busy! Worth a visit!Written 2 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- swapnil kaleMumbai, India3 contributionsIt is a great beach. You can enjoy beer and food while watching surfers.
Surfing lessons are too good.
Please do not take pic from this guy. He would charge a lot and after taking money from you, he would not send you the correct pics.
He is a great photographer but not at all ethical.Written 12 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - rhoeeJakarta, Indonesia72 contributionsbeach with dark sand, crowded when sunset time, lots of people come, unique couse there is a 'river' to the sea.....little river.Written 7 March 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Ivans KJakarta, Indonesia2,211 contributionsAlternative beach is located in canggu area. This jaw-dropping swimming pool has everything you need for the ultimate chill out day. Enter via the cafe (Eat Me), which has a mouth-watering menu and make your way past the various insta-worthy spots down to your day bed.
As the day goes on, entertain yourself with delicious cocktails from the swim-up pool bar, a slide down the water slide from the third level of the hostel, a dive off the diving platform or even a swing on the over-water swing. You might even choose to pop yourself into one of four jacuzzis overlooking the pool, ocean and rice-fields.
The Pool Bar offers a variety of delicious pre-mixed drinks and mouth-watering signature and classic cocktails. Whether you’re into the tangy ‘Mick Jagger’ containing jagermeister, orange fresh or raspberry or the sweet ‘Booty Call’ encompassing light rum, apple sour, strawberry and framboise, we have something to cater to your taste-buds!
If you're on a bit of a health retreat, there is even a gym (Wanderlust Fitness Studio) and some delicious, healthy options on the cafe menu. Loving the place so much that you want to stay? You can! Check out the hostel (Kosone Hostel) or private rooms (Canggu Village Accommodation) that can be found on the property.
Over all, alternative beach is a good place to chill out.Written 13 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Ricky SBandung, Indonesia358 contributionsIf you happen to be in Canggu, pay a visit to this beautiful beach. I have progressed a lot and improved in a place with great environmental commitment, which was very important to me.Written 21 December 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- WinnieKerobokan Kelod, Indonesia26 contributionsI was inquiring about scooter lesson in Bali Group on Facebook when majority of the replies recommending Canggu Scooter Lessons. I contacted them and Bli Krisna immediately replied. I had so much fun learning with Canggu Scooter Lessons! Everybody is very friendly and accommodating. I took total 5 lessons with Bli Gede and today I am driving at night with pride (and safely!). On my first day I was scared and worried as I was in accident before but Bli Gede is very patient and professional. I could not recommend enough. Thank you Bli Krisna and Bli Gede! You guys are amazing!Written 8 November 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- AgusPrianto111Bangkok, Thailand77 contributionsThis area is exactly in the middle between main road to Batu bolong beach. If you are looking for some cheap place to buy beers i highly recommend the minimarket there. Their newly open bar is also kind of cheap in term of drink and cool staff (best time to visit is at night after 7).Written 28 February 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- coogeemattSydney, Australia303 contributionsLots of locals come here particularly on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons. They come to eat from street cart food vendors setting up on beach, fly kites, swim, watch sunsets, play volleyball, perform ceremonies, get cool, surf, gamble. It's cool to see a place that's just not tourists. The sunsets can be great (but that's every beach along this coast). I had amazing surfs here right off the river mouth /lagoon. On a mid tide and medium to large swell you can get some peaks glassy barrels on a sand bottom. Just up,the beach north is Batu Balong and echo And just a south is Finns /Barewa beach break. Super sand cover reef breaks and sand bank breaks. Also at back of beach heading south is heaps of small beach bars in sand that go off at sunset. Stay near here you won't regret.Written 27 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Jonady1 contributionI had lost hope in overcoming my fears when I was surfing, each session was a frustration, until I did the Surf Coaching sessions with Israel, I learned how to manage my emotions in the sea, understand the operation of the sea and the best, anticipate everything and thus feel more secure and confidence with my skill. No doubt now my sessions are incredible, thank you very much Fetch Surf Training Center .. !!!Written 7 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- missjdanielsMelbourne, Australia33 contributionsI had a dead phone and nowhere to charge it, so I asked the staff inside if I could borrow their charger for 5 minutes and they were kind enough to let me. Whilst waiting, I had a look through the beautiful work and amazing photography.
