What travellers are saying
- hitthesand3 contributionsBrand new purpose built Vaka and she's beautiful. All the comforts you need for a day on the lagoon. Ample space for all guests, friendly staff and a good amount of time to swim and soak it all in.Written 28 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jacqui FAuckland, New Zealand12 contributionsEPIC day out on the Lagoon and beyond with Mike from Black Pearl Charters - Aitutaki! We did it all and saw it all!! Live baits brought in the Mahi Mahi, Yellow Fin Tuna and Rainbow Runners! Deep sea fishing saw plenty of Ruby Snapper topped off with some snorkelling on The Wall - edge of the outer reef. If that wasn’t enough we then floated down the lagoon by One Foot Island, spotted some whales and turtles, and went snorkeling with Giant Trevally! The whole day was topped off with great commentary, sharing of local legends, plenty of laughs and top notch Kai from Mikes Mum! A top notch intimate adventure of Heaven on Earth! Mike, Captain Jack Sparrow ain’t got nothing on you!! Best day EVER !!Written 19 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Debby MHastings, New Zealand48 contributionsIf you do nothing else on Aitutaki, you must do a Teking Lagoon cruise. The best day ever swimming with giant Trevally, giant clams and snorkelling in the most beautiful lagoon in the world. Everything is provided from snorkelling gear (fee), water and lunch. You will get wet but it is so warm. Te King's humourous side comes out and is so entertaining. He makes everyone feel special. He has an amazing team and I highly recommend. The memories will stay with you forever.Written 28 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Edie4 contributionsWe had a wonderful cruise to the islands around Aitutaki. Our captain, Shon, was friendly and very happy to share the local culture and history with us. A small group made the day together a great experience. Excellence snorkelling, especially with the giant trevally. A real highlight of our trip.Written 16 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

So, I booked a trip to the Cook Islands, including Aitutaki and a charter tour for just my husband and me with Mona's. Captain Dan took us all around the lagoon on a 6 hour trip.
We snorkelled at 4 different places seeing huge trevally, purple coral, turtles and many different fish. The visibility was about 30 - 40m metres and the water was warm and pristine. We also visited many different islands that rim the lagoon and Captain Dan gave us a great commentary about each one.
They even accommodated the fact that we wanted a fish lunch on Honeymoon Island and supplied ice to chill the French champagne for our celebration.
We highly recommend this trip to anyone who loves snorkelling, great service and who appreciates the beauty and magic of Aitutaki.
It really is paradise!Written 30 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Having been fortunate enough to have experienced many full-day lagoon trips with Aitutaki Adventures and Captain Puna in the past, we decided this year to do a private lagoon trip and it was amazing. Mac was very accommodating, friendly and helpful. We snorkelled at the wreck with the Māori Wrasse and Giant Trevally, then at another spot where the sandbank drops into the deeper part of the lagoon. The water was crystal clear and we were surrounded by beautiful tropical fish. Mac then dropped us off at Maina where we spent several hours enjoying the peaceful beauty of the Aitutaki lagoon. The boat ride was comfortable and fast and we loved every minute. It was so liberating to be able to choose where we went and spent as much time as we liked at each spot. We enjoyed it so much, we booked a second private trip a few days later where we snorkelled at three spots and then spent a few hours on One Foot Island before the other cruise boats arrived. I highly recommend Aitutaki Adventures and we look forward to booking private snorkelling trips with them again next year.Written 20 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kev and Cat5 contributionsHuge props to Mike Lee, Rick and Manual.
We were referred to Mike Lee by a kite board instructor friend of ours and we were just so happy with the experience. Mike transports you by boat from the wharf in Aitutaki to Honeymoon Island. Honeymoon Island is one of the best kiteboarding locations in the world., where the winds are constant and the water is clear, smooth and shallow.
Kiteboard Aitutaki has a camp set up on the island with picnic tables, hammocks, as well as a gear and changing area all under cover. It's a super chill vibe and if you need anything they will sort it out for you.
Tipping 60, we have both taken lessons at other resort locations in the past. Unfortuntely, the winds elsewhere were too variable and it kept us from progressing beyond kite control, body dragging, and recovery. Aitutaki receives trade winds June through September. This is the best kiteboarding, foiling and kite sports window in the world.
Rick worked with me on Kite Boarding and Manual worked with my wife on her Wing Foiling. They were both happy people, patient, encouraging, easy going and extremely knowledgeable. We stayed focused on only a few skills at a time so you didn't feel overwhelmed. The teaching follows the IKO curriculum, and Kiteboard Aitutaki is always focused on safety, and the important concepts of the sports.
We both progressed to where we're starting to ride and that's just the best feeling. We can't wait to come back and enjoy this special place again. Thanks again, guys. She explained everything really well and we were able to book on the afternoon private tour for the 5 of us. Which included a picnic on Onefoot island to end the tour. The food was so delicious and we were able to bring our own gin and tonics and wine.
We got to stop at the most beautiful islands and beaches and had some incredible snorkeling. The water was crystal clear, I have only seen water like it in Tahiti!
Floating down the channel of onefoot island was also a real highlight. I cannot recommend Kute Kute lagoon tours enough!Written 13 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We saw whales breaching and diving, then when there was little signs of more whales, our skipper dropped us to a snorkeling area. Thankfully, later on, we found mums with their calves and were able to swim with them! Still in awe. My guide took footage and made me feel very safe in the water and around the whales. Highly recommend. I’m honestly tempted to go again.
Also the Bubbles 2 Go cafe has great, Melbourne-standard coffee (iykyk).Written 26 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Incredible snorkelling and iconic photo opportunities added to the time, which included fruits and banana bread from Captain T's garden and home.

- Amy MercerSydney, Australia3 contributionsWe went on 3 trips with Wet & Wild and each trip was absolutely incredible! We did a private charter for the first trip, unfortunately did not get to see any whales but were lucky enough to swim with Spinner Dolphins where Quinten made sure we had plenty of opportunities! The next two times we did another private charter and then a group tour for the third where we swam with a mama and a Juvenile Humpback! Such a humbling and incredible experience swimming alongside these gentle giants! Quinten & QJ were knowledgable, super accomodating and had great banter!
Meitaki Maata Quinten & QJ for the most amazing experiences! Will be back!!Written 27 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We chose Kia Orana because they have smaller boats that can go faster and there were more stops. We didn’t want to get stuck on a slow moving boat with 30 other people. We were able to get to One Foot Island before the bigger boats and we were the only ones on this magical island.
Then - big surprise. We figured they’d feed us some food and whatever. We weren’t going for the food anyway. Were we wrong!! The lunch was fantastic!! All in all a great cruise by a great family business.Written 27 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. One of our passengers has a disability, and the special care and attention they paid to accommodate his needs were very much appreciated.
The knowledge Richard has of Aitutaki is impressive. This knowledge includes the history of the island's development right through to the special nature of the land and marine environments. We were lucky to see turtles and be shown the clam nursery Richard has been a key player in.
A wonderful day out. I could not recommend it highly enough.Written 1 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
