The temple vibe was nice and soothing. We visited at 7 am and the temperature was cool. It took us 45 minutes to visit the whole temple complex.

There’s main temple of Kaali Maa and 12 smaller temples of Shiva.

The temple wall has nice non-deity carvings.

We visited as part of a wider day tour of Kolkatta. It is certainly a very humbling experience seeing where the great lady lived and worked. Definitely worth a visit if you are in town.

The Howrah bridge is a very impressive structure. It looks majestic especially during dusk as we see the reflection on the river Hooghly.

This is Kolkata's most posh mall. It has good brands and good restaurants. The food court is always very busy. Their movie theater is good too. I frequent this mall due to its quality.

This is a historic cemetery containing the burial grounds and tombs of personalities from the colonial era. Some people might think it a bit morbid to visit graves. There are graves mainly of prominent members of the East India Company as well as other members of British society. As a historical site, the graves and tombs are all well kept, displaying excellent architectural examples from the British era.

    Free entrance ...
It was built in the year 1841, during the British Raj in India. More than 180 years old ..
Prinsep ghat is located along the banks of the River Ganges. Along this bank, there are stone steps in regular intervals that lead you down to the waters. Infringed are benches for you to sit and watch glorious sunsets over the water while watching ships sail past you. Nestled amidst nature, you can spend time wonderfully.

This cathedral was built in 1847 to accommodate the growing European and Christian population in Kolkata. The building is built in Neo-Gothic style. The exterior of the building is noticeably covered in a brilliant white of lime plaster. Except much of the plaster is now covered in dirt, although the plaster does show through the cleaner bits. The entrance has an unusually long hall, leading up to the nave. The interior of the building has been slightly adapted to the climate conditions with fans overhead to keep worshippers cool. Unusually for a cathedral of this size, there aren’t that many stained glass windows except at the altar which mainly covers the crucifixion and I guess scenes of Jesus conducting sermons

A buzzing place. Crowded but safe and friendly. Really get a feel for a commerce centre. Worth getting out of the comfort zone for.
