This house was one of the places Mother Teresa was based when conducting her charity work in Kolkata. It's a functioning place of worship for nuns, although I wasn’t sure if the sick and needy were still housed here. There’s a one room museum dedicated to Mother Teresa where you can learn all about the life and times of this woman. Her tomb is in another room where she has been buried in a large marble sarcophagus with a statue of Mary. The room in which she slept and worked has also been preserved. It’s a simple room and accessible up a flight of stairs. The visit would last about 30 minutes. Worth a quick visit if you have time in the city.

While passing through Park Street in the evening, the brightly lit shops & restaurants, as also the crowded ambience, reminds you of the pole position this place enjoys in the hearts of the folks of the city!

This is a historic cemetery containing the burial grounds and tombs of personalities from the colonial era. Some people might think it a bit morbid to visit graves. There are graves mainly of prominent members of the East India Company as well as other members of British society. As a historical site, the graves and tombs are all well kept, displaying excellent architectural examples from the British era.
