- AshokWorld5 contributionsYesterday, 17th July, instead going back to Siliguri by normal NH 55 via Kurseong, I choose to return via Lamahatta. I could not imagine, what a beautiful route it is. One should choose to go by this route to enjoy. 3-4 km road is damaged at Teesta. Overall very good road and natureWritten 18 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- akghosalStoke-on-Trent, UK28 contributionsBeautiful gardens and waterfall right in the mountains on the outskirts of Darjeeling, despite the very steep/unsafe roads to & from there (was even a landslide towards the bottom). My only problem with the area was that there was some litter left on the roadside near the waterfall but otherwise, was such a stunning area.Written 28 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ariEE40 contributionsFrom darjeeling Mall road , one can go to observatory hill spot by 5 minutes of walk through mall market. Very Few benches have been arranged to sit. If weather is clear , anyone can enjoy scenic beauty of the valley/ mountains specially kanchenjenga, having a sip of coffee/tea and get relaxed for hours.Written 13 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GolakaNathMumbai, India1,461 contributionsWe drove to the entry point of Mahananda Wildlife sanctuary from Latpanchor village and the staff at the gate did not allow us to enter the sanctuary because of 4 wild elephants have gone berserk a few days ago and killed one person. They refused to issue entry permit for us and hence we have to return to our vehicle. We took a small stroll at the outer kachha road surrounding the forest area and looked for some birds. Mr. Bidhan Chettri is a very enthusiastic bird watcher and since we stayed in his Homestay (Kharkha Homestay) at Latpanchor, he was our natural guide. We spent some time around the place and visited nearby villages and witnessed sunset before driving back to the Homestay at Latpanchor village.Written 19 December 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Koel_MajKolkata (Calcutta), India129 contributionsChapramari wildlife sanctuary is located in Dooars region in the northern part of West Bengal, India. It is a small-sized forest primarily known for its population of elephants ,wild bison different types of birds like hornbilletc.
We went there during our Dooars tour after lockdown.
We opted for Chapramari watch tower tour inside Chapramari wildlife sanctuary which has the high tourist demand.
Although spotting wildlife inside a forest is totally based on luck, we were lucky enough to spot some. This was a refreshing trip after lockdown.
The watch tower tour happens in four time slots, you can choose the slot according to your preference.
If you choose the last slot then you can enjoy a tribal dance at the end of tour, the cost of which is included in the ticket price.
A photo ID card and it's xerox is mandatory for obtaining the forest permit.
If you want to see a detailed video of this place then you can checkout my YT Channel TravellersLens.

- RandDtravellersEast Sussex243 contributionsThis is a lovely quiet space in Darjeeling - quite a hill climb and not many taxis so if walking is difficult get a car there and back. The gardens even in winter were interesting for the range of Himalayan trees and plants. The orchid house even had a display in flower in the middle of December.Written 4 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
