I spent my childhood in Mylapore and hence returning for a visit was nostalgic, although it has become extremely commercial and crowded. But walking through the streets around Kapaleeswarar temple tank and by lanes brought back memories, not to forget the relegious fervor of the Markazhi month

Beautiful church with a separate chapel where the burial and the relics of St. Thomas are kept. Peaceful place for contemplation. This is a must destination when visiting Chennai!

We managed to get to this holy temple by car when we were in Chennai. The temple was not crowded at the time when we visited it. WE felt blessed by the darshan of Shridi Sai baba.

One of the oldest club/auditorium in the City. This club, I presume, has lost its prominence. I understand that few events and tuition classes are held here.

This is one of the oldest temples of Anjaneya in Chennai. Just located very near to Alwarpet signal, near to Trinity and Kauvery Hospitals. It is inside TNSC Bank Compound. This Anjaneyar is said to be powerful that devotees wishes or prayers are answered once pray to Him. The temple is well maintained. Archagas are very good and that they do the poojas and Archanai very sincerely. Prasadam is being distributed daily,
You can use parking place inside the TNSC Bank Compound.

The Aadhi kesava Peumal temple is more than 1500 years old. It is the birthplace of Pei Alwar, one amongst the first 3 Alwars.

Lord Kesava Perumal & his consort Mayuravalli Thaayar shower their Blessings on devotees.

On Fridyas, the "vilva arachanai" to Mayuravalli thayar is famous.

All your prayers will be answered by the Grace of Aaadhi kesava & Thayar.

Pary with faith & you will see the results.

“Luz” is a Portuguese word which means light. This spot was like a forest and even to this day, this church is also known as “kaatukoil” where in Tamil language, it translates to “forest church”.
The existing structure at Luz church was built by the Portuguese in 1516. The architecture consists of patterns of gothic arches, Baroque ornamentation compounded with classic European style. The altars are gilded with silver and gold leaves and the ceilings with powder blue Fresco paintings. The foundation stone of this church is considered to be ‘one of the oldest European monuments in India.’
This ancient church was raised to the status of a Shrine on 15th August, 2010 and also to the status of a Heritage Monumental Shrine in the city of Chennai. This Heritage status is accorded by the Department of Metropolitan Development Authority as Heritage Building in Tamil Nadu.

This temple of Goddess Amman attracts devotees from around Mylapore. Temple is on a narrow street with lots of traffic and it is best advised to reach the temple on foot. Temple is well maintained within its precincts. However the areas surrounding and the approach road are not that well maintained. Inside the temple, one can feel divinity.

The shopping complex is all the time crowded as it attracts very large loyal customer base due to the reliable outlets who sell at reasonable price. The staff here are good and well trained for a quick service
