- James cOklahoma City, OK421 contributionsI had a tour of this neighborhood in Chennai, the main structures/sights are the st thomas church and kapaleeshwarar temple which i both visited. This is the ancient part of the city although it looks like a very typical neighborhood for indian big cities. I enjoyed the photographic opportunities, especially the sacred tank next to the templeWritten 7 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Vidya GVictoria, Seychelles8 contributionsI heard about TNagar and how it was a must to visit. I did take a taxi from the hotel which costs 200 indian rupees and decided to visit this area solo. I mostly enjoyed all the beautiful jewelleries and clothes. Price was ok and sellers were nice. I was solo [lady) and I felt safe. No pushing even though the place was packed. An overall good experience.Written 4 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Richard GMelbourne, Australia4 contributionsA wonderful Country and I have been from North and South and East and West. Food is good and People are very friendly. Contrast between say Chenai and Delhi makes it even more worthwhile. - rama1Melbourne, Australia1,190 contributionsA vast compound which is part of the army/government and has many restricted areas but still plenty to see.
Museum is OK if a little basic.
Highlight is St Mary's Church with many headstones and plaques on disply.
Security is reasonably tedious at the entrance.Written 3 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We ate in a cafe (and one of my sons was subsequently sick!)…. This is not an affluent area - we saw both adults and children urinating/defalcating in the street, and hygiene is not high on the agenda - but it’s real life for those that live here.Written 19 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
